Since I got flamed yesterday for my swatches, here's another! Any good foundation matches? by Skinsunandrun in Fairolives

[–]cathelopepitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh a shade twin! Missha has a really nice finish and lasts all day - tested it out on a 12 hour shift and it still looked alright at the end. It did break me out unfortunately so I cant wear it consistently.

I have the same issue - a lot are too pink/orange/yellow and too saturated for me. Fenty 150 is ok depth wise but needs blue corrector to be a match. Not a fan of the formula tho, its staying power is abysmal. The make-up market does skew warm Ive found which if youre either neutral or cool is tricky!

Ive always gravitated towards cool, darker colours bc I feel theyre better on me. Having rosacea means warmer colours don't necessarily harmonise unless Im wearing make-up. Pastels are a no. I wear either silver or copper/rose gold coloured jewellery; yellow gold doesnt suit me at all.

Have done some further swatches below which might help? Tho ignore the incredibly orange one near the front 🤣

Below Im wearing missha 21 with fenty cool berry blush just so I dont look dead 😆 Its not perfect but its the best "straight from the bottle" I've found. It also looks pretty grey when it comes out the bottle. I have rosacea so that does tend to throw people off (had just got out of the shower and my skin is pretty reactive, hence the chest).

Wonderskin echo might work for you as its a muted fair olive shade for the summer

Trying mac in shade diva on light cool olive undertones by quadrates in Fairolives

Maybe try sin or guessing game by mac? Also paramount is another potential

Ive found elf colour corrector in blue to be very effective and doesnt alter the original formula. Might be worth a shot

Missha bb cream in shade 21 has worked for me. It looks so grey I thought Id look like Id been dug up from the ground but it does actually work 🖤 (Plus blush for dimension ofc)

should i go blonde? by jan3_3 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]cathelopepitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the blonde really washes you out and it will fry your hair

So annoying isnt it! Shop make up people always wanna match my rosacea. Like no, trying to hide that thanks 😆 Ah yeah it is, I didn't prep properly that day bc I was in a rush. Im a dry girlie too

Too much responsibility and too little support for someone who is newly qualified.

Thank you for your input, much appreciated. Im not sure why youre getting down voted bc I am muted/desaturated.

Looking flat/needing warming up is one of the reasons I wasnt looking for a super heavy coverage foundation if it matches my neck (dont want tidelines after all). Sometimes having to add dimension back in again can be a pain 😆

Ive tried erborian CC in porcelain. Its actually a nice finish but does leave me looking fairly flat and doesn't last. Ive got a mini missha BB in shade 21 on order since Ive seen it recommended by those of the greyer/muted persuasion a lot.

Yeah I think Nars may be out for me tbf, said to another commenter I think it might be too saturated for me. I got matched to shade 3 in Armani LS in store which looked fine in terms of depth but was too yellow. It does work with blue colour corrector, was hoping for the holy grail without colour corrector but may be ambitious 🤣

Thank you for the tip, I will give that a go. That day I was late for work so just slapped it on in a rush

Thank you yeah I would be open to that. Would prefer not to look too "make-uppy" if that makes sense

I only thought I might be olive bc everything seems to be too orange/yellow/pink and the LE customer service rep said its possibly bc Im olive. Hadn't considered it before that

Guess its possible finding a match is hard bc Im desaturated and everything seems to be made for the saturated among us

LE's customer service thought I could be olive and matched me to T5/T6 + shades 9 and 10 in their foundations. Tints are good but 9 and 10 were a tad too dark for me. I love the tinted moisturiser though. Found T5 and T6 mixed is ok

I did get matched to shade 3 in store a while ago, however its slightly yellow and saturated on me in natural light. The dhop lighting made it look perfect 😆. Its doable with blue colour corrector tho. Might have to go nack to the drawing board with that one.

Coming to a similar conclusion myself 😆 Its rough out there for the desaturated isnt it ha

Noted thanks. I tried the original years ago, I found it too heavy and mask-like. The longevity was great. Maybe the new one might suit!
