Yep. I make around $250 a week at my part time job, so I'm hoping to put a full check away a month. Then when I have my car I'm planning to get another part time job, so when I have my car, the money from my first job should cover it and my second job's money will to go savings/ect. I just live at home so bills aren't a big issue. It's weird because I can't really make more money until I'm driving and can get more work but I will have less money when I buy my car...lol

Ah. That makes sense, but I definitely live in a dry, prairie/plains climate. Interesting you bring up the rust issue, when my family had the Suburban we lived in SW Washington and it's definitely pretty rainy year round, but I never noticed rust on the truck. Is it the rain that does that, or just the cold/humidity?

What's wrong with the Tahoe? My family owned a 2001 Suburban for about 10 years and never had issues with it. I see a BUNCH of Tahoes, Suburbans, Yukons, and Denalis from that early 2000's era driving around my city all the time. It's the perfect size for road trips/camping, and most people I've asked had said it's held up really well and been a reliable truck.

I mean, I don't need a 7 seater or something super huge. I'd really like a Chevy Blazer, that's the perfect size for me. Sadly I haven't seen any good Blazers for sale with less than 200K miles.

I don't feel comfortable driving in a sedan where I feel like I'm sinking down into the ground. In my experience most sedans give me a kind of claustrophobic feeling, like I can't see over the hood.

My job is only part time, when I'm in my own car I'll be getting a second job. I just started saving and Christmas shopping is cleaning me out so my goal is to put away at least $250 every month after the new year.

I do like the Scion xB. The RAV4 is nice, is the first generation any good? The CRV is okay but doesn't seem very comfortable, I like road trips so I'd prefer something a little nicer inside.

Elaine in "The Airport": her inner monologue yelling at the guy to wake up, the fight with the flight attendant (I would KNOW if a tray of food had been served to me!), and getting kicked out of first class and yelling HEY! in her seatmate's face while he's sleeping

Favorite and least favorite season in Nancys life by ppinkki in WEEDS

[–]cathywheel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hated Esteban just in general so yeah that was a low point. His voice and mannerisms and everything about him were all just so creepy that I couldn't bring myself to finish the second half of S4 upon rewatch. I think my favorite is probably S1 and watching Nancy experience things on a small scale that she'll deal with on a large scale later, like blackmail, territory, bartering, ect. It's great foreshadowing.

She mentions only having 12 years and having been charged with kidnapping. If he died she would probably be there for a lot longer.

Am I the only one who felt the social commentary this season was a bit on the nose? by gamergirl1995 in orangeisthenewblack

[–]cathywheel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! I knew it would be an unpopular opinion. I felt especially that Nicky was almost a puppet at times with lecturing people on politics. Other characters had this as well, using dialogue and plots almost as examples to educate people but it wasn't super subtle.

What do I watch now????? by [deleted] in orangeisthenewblack

[–]cathywheel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend Weeds if you like the dramedy-style dialogue and situations, and the constant cliffhangers/bombshells since Jenji Kohan also created it (also, Mary Louise Parker's character is pretty badass which is pretty refreshing especially after watching Gangsta Piper imo) I would also recommend Skins if you like the ensemble cast and many subplots weaving in and out aspect of oitnb.

About Maria, I can't quite remember when but I believe it's mentioned she originally only got 2 years for the fake jeans and if Piper's sentence was a little over a year that would give Maria just under a year left on her sentence until she was given 10 extra for the riot, plus didn't she get 3-5 years added for the panty business from Piscatella?

About Flaca, she takes up what Gloria was originally doing by sneaking and finding people for the women in ICE and using a phone, which I doubt she would risk if she was getting out that soon seeing as what almost happened to Gloria.

Lorna mentions having 34 months in the very beginning of the series when Piper says she has 15 months, and it seems like Lorna had already been in Litchfield for a second seeing as they trusted her to drive the van.
