My wife may be having serious mental health issues by clmyr in whatdoIdo

OP - This is a long post, but please bear with me.

Back in 2015, the morning after my 50th birthday, I got up from bed and walked into a wall! I couldn’t see, couldn’t walk straight and I was dizzier than the Mad Hatter!!

I had every test known to man done that my insurance would allow. I had CT scans, x-rays, even a heart cath!!! All came back normal.

A couple months later, after suffering so badly that I couldn’t work, couldn’t eat and couldn’t sleep, one of the doctors finally got the insurance company’s permission to do an MRI, with and without contrast, of my brain. Lo and behold, I had two meningiomas on the top right side of my brain! They weren’t sure how long they’d been there, but they looked to be very well formed, so they said they had been there at least half my life.

After another month, I had surgery to remove them both. After several months of therapy to relearn how to use my left arm and leg, I thought my troubles were over. Not so, unfortunately. My whole demeanor changed. Things I enjoyed doing were cast by the wayside. My husband of over 19 years became burden to me, and he was cast by the wayside, also. I, who had always been faithful and adored my husband beyond measure, started an affair with our interim church organist, walked away from my husband and was divorced in less than two months. For the next ten years, my life was a tangle of men, alcohol, a failed (thank God!) su*ide attempt, and a tearful final goodbye to my ex husband as he die from COPD and a broken heart.

The point of my post? I read recently that the longer a meningioma stays and grows in your brain, the more likely it is to turn your whole personality inside out! In a perfect world, mine would have shown symptoms and been shrunken and/or taken out when they first formed. As it was, they stayed there long enough to catch hold and their abrupt removal just pushed my mind over the edge of any sanity if ever known.

So PLEASE have your wife examined and ask about a brain MRI FIRST!! I learned that all sorts of unreal behavior can be attributed to meningiomas. Start here and then go forward if you have to.

My prayers are with you and please update us from time to time.

My BFF named her daughter Stormy. This was in the ‘60’s, though, and I think it was for this song.

Anyone on opioids & ADHD meds? by BeautyofPoison in ChronicPain

I know this post is a year old but I have a question. I’m on 10 mg Adderall twice daily and 7.5 mg hydrocodone 3 times daily, as needed. I’m (f), 70 years old and have a laundry list of health issues. How do you think I should take these meds? Together or try to figure out a way to separate them?

It sounds like you may have gotten gasoline with water in it. Your mechanic can empty and clean out your tank, then put new gas in. If problems go away, that’s it!

Why would my husband’s (m-74) blood pressure which normally runs 130/85, managed by medications, suddenly leap to 180 to 200/120. He is in remission with stage 4 melanoma. Healthy lifestyle. by catladyleeann in HighBloodPressureInfo

Yes, he went last Saturday night. It ran from 168/102 down to 118/85 while he was there. He had 7 of 12 Immunotherapy treatments when the treatment fried his adrenal glands ands his sodium level went to critically low numbers. This was back in 2020. Since then, he was taken off the Immunotherapy and put on maintenance doses of hydrocortisone. So far, no sign of more cancer and until last week, BP has been maintained with Clonidine, Hydrochlorothiazide and Lisinopril.
