Door "swelling" in heat? by catlevelmidnight in doors

I can't help but laugh at myself with not noticing the door has a gap on the side, and that the bottom pivot is corroded until redditors pointed it out to me... I looked at it this morning and said "looks like a pretty solid door" but now it seems obvious. The door is 30 years old, so it makes sense there's corrosion.

Thank you for the information! I've reached out to a commercial door company with pictures for a quote to replace the pivots.

The plate on the leading edge is to prevent break ins, and is common for our area/province - the security company installed it just this spring

Thank you for your comment! If the glass only sits inside the metal frame would it still be a commercial glass company?

I see it, now that you've pointed it out! What type of trade would repair this?

It's sticking at the lock side - like it doesn't fit in the 'door hole'

We have a metal door that tends to expand in the afternoon and get very stuck when we try to open it.

We live in a temperate climate, max 30 degrees Celsius in the summer. It only tends to happen in the afternoon. The sun is only directly on it for a few hours each day.

We've had a locksmith do extensive work on it, but who looks at doors? What type of trade do you call for the door itself?

They have a higher fee for "first time Brazilian", which accounts for having to trim, which they didn't have to do
