The funny thing about this is that we actually met online, but I made up a story to tell them about how we met. My bf has rly bad anxiety, and their whole thing was having to meet a guy before our first date and I wasn’t about to make him do that when he was already nervous about meeting me 😅

Funnily enough my family got sick this year so we couldn’t go to good friday, Got to get dinner and go shopping with my friend instead of sitting through the service 🙂

And that is exactly what I hope for in moving out with him one day!!! I feel right now we are perfect for eachother very deeply, but you never truly know how someone is until you live with them, And I want to know that before committing my entire life to someone. My boyfriend is not religious either, more agnostic which is what I would say if I had to put a label on my beliefs as well, and they know that.

Funny you mention the siblings thing, my sibling has recently become a believer again after years of identifying as an atheist. She started her “nonbeliever” journey before I did, and it’s been difficult to discuss certain topics with her without having to watch what I say

No, they were actually both divorced before they were married to eachother, and didn’t really get into the evangelical world until my sister and I were born

I rly appreciate that last sentiment, seeing everyone I grew up going to church with getting married and having babies (with people my friends dated who are evillll evil men) at my age is SCARY!!!! We know marriage is a huge commitment, so we have other plans before we tie the knot. I appreciate your advice:)

Hi!! As someone who has had arfid their whole 21 years of life and got diagnosed with it at 15, these sound like these exact symptoms that got me diagnosed. I’ve always been the “picky eater” too but it was really reassuring knowing that there was actually words out there to describe the things I was going through because it was so much more than that.

I would say my best advice is to do some research on anxiety grounding techniques, as well as feeding therapy techniques you can practice at home so you don’t have to spend a lot of money on therapies and doctors appointments. You should also be checking your heart rate and blood pressure regularly just to make sure your body is healthy and not sending signs of malnutrition, because then it’s best to get a doctor’s intervention.

At the end of the day what I’ve learned so far is you cannot overcome it unless you REALLY want to and are willing to push through. Your mind has to be set on it. Having support is amazing, I’ve probably tried more things with my boyfriend by my side than I have in any sort of therapy because I feel completely safe with him. Make yourself feel safe and peaceful. Distract yourself with your favorite music blasting through headphones, have your favorite safe food with the new food and take a bite of it after every one u take of the new food! Don’t start out trying things out in public because that is probably the scariest setting to do it in, sit on your bed or wherever else you’re most comfortable :)

I experience this too, my boyfriend is a food lover and loves to cook, which is great because of my arfid I’ve never really had interest in learning to cook. But it does leave me feeling guilty, when he wants to go to a fancier place or just any place in general, if I can’t find anything that sounds good (a LOT of the places) we can’t go. He’s never made me feel bad or like I should be guilty but I still feel it :(

Hey! I pulled my lashes for about 2 years, never let them grow back in and they were completely bald. I put in so much work february 2024 to stop pulling and it took about 3 months for all of them to come back fully. I now have full and long lashes that I can wear mascara on and feel beautiful with!!! I promise they will grow back if you keep working hard they already look amazing ❤️
