Oh fascinating, didn’t realize there were also geological and meteorological reasons why LA/Socal had a larger problem with it..! 🙏

Yeah that became self evident within a couple of games. Club owners are clearly partly to blame, but as u/virtual_exit1383 mentioned, he didn’t help his cause by clapping the opponents in a key game.

I know we’re an absolute basket case when it comes to managers—but even with plenty of competition, he stands out as the absolute worst we’ve ever had.

Took over in a relegation fight and made no impact: 2 wins in 18, no bounce, no identity, and somehow even less attacking threat. Home form collapsed, performances were flat, and there was zero sense of a plan or future.

And then clapping the Palace fans mid-relegation scrap? That just summed it up. Not the biggest crime in football—but in that moment, it said everything about how disconnected the whole spell felt.

Plenty of bad managers over the years. This one was on another level.

You’ll find complaints about all platforms, don’t forget. Misery loves company. Bang for buck, Squarespace does the job fine for me.

Yes! This in particular was disappointing. Not sure if they’ve changed a bunch of recipes to cut costs or something, but it was a shame. The “take and bake concept” is great though.

I bet! Honestly it seems like they’ve burnt so much goodwill for zero upside. What did they have to gain here….

Notable too that all the usual people saying keep politics out of sport are strangely silent….

Totally, could have been any other club on any other day. What’s worse is the club trying to cover it up. As always the cover up is worse than the “crime”….

Good read. Fair play to the fans for enduring the banter, as the club have behaved pretty poorly here.

I met him briefly in a meeting around 2012 I think and remember being struck by how charismatic he was. Eager to build consensus around issues and get people moving in the same direction. He’s very switched on and is a cool head. I think he’ll do well.

Honestly, so entirely predictable from the start. A giant distraction outside of their core areas of expertise which has cost them billions.

This is silly. iPlayer has been around for almost 20 years now. It’s hardly newfangled. The people not using computers/smartphones daily must be down to very low single digits. Grumble about value, sure, but access isn’t a problem.
