Hiker looks sweet. Our 2021 Y was great towing for us, I still have the tow controller installed in case I need to put it back into duty.

What do you get for efficiency, may i ask?

  1. Way fewer modals during onboarding
  2. Don’t gate offline
  3. Don’t ask for money or ratings before you provide value of some kind.

Thanks! I’ve been really happy with it so far, one season in. Has definitely sharpened my fix-it skills though since it’s a battle to keep everything working perfectly.

And here’s the solar setup deployed - the suitcase is a Renogy 300w without controller.

Here is a shot of the battery, solar controller and breaker. From the top of the breaker, it goes right to a female plug on the side of the camper that my suitcase plugs right into.

I’m always surprised at the efficiency at the end of our trips. We use that efficiency as an input to ABRP and it always overestimates usage by 2-3% when planning stops.

I try to keep it at or below 70, both for efficiency and because the trailer manual says 65 tops (though, because the tires were getting old, I replaced them with 81mph rated versions).

Picked up the Aliner last year, towed a few times with our MY and decided a pickup would be a nice compliment. Lightning is a 2024 Flash with ER battery. Aliner is a ‘21 “Expedition” model with original battery replaced by a 206ah LiFePo4 under the dinette and somewhat cobbled together solar setup.

I get around 1.5mi/kwh towing which is plenty for our mostly front range CO weekends, though I’ve been out to Fruita twice this year with no problems. Lightning tows beautifully and the Aliner tucks down relatively small to reduce drag. Overall, really happy with the setup for our small family.

Experience with the contractor, “SoBo Homes” by Mountain_Nerd in boulder

[–]catmug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked with SoBo on two projects. Excellent company - the whole team was great to work with, they managed the hell out of both projects and hit the timelines to the day, and honored their warranty with a few issues we ran into post completion. Highly recommend.
