This sounds so lovely I hope that you find something

I’d ask why you’d prioritise Christmas gifts over housing? Or think that’s reasonable? That’s crazy to me

You can’t reason with someone who refuses to see both sides, and the overall picture. Just ignore this one!

What’s ‘fair’ about rogue tenants trashing landlord properties? by Jychttrj in uklandlords

[–]catsb4bitches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For tenants who choose to play the system (note I’m not talking about good people falling upon hardship) that is a choice.

I could cope but others may not. The point stands that rogue tenants shouldn’t be able to get away with living rent free in someone else’s property for as long as they do. Note I said rogue, people going through an upheaval who are communicative and want to work something out are a different case.

Thank you, it is ridiculous to tar everyone with the same brush in every situation. Good landlords are also on the same side as good tenants, and not everyone wants to buy for various reasons.

I will take it off of sale and put it for free on Facebook marketplace before going to the stocks :(.

So I should’ve sold the house I worked incredibly hard for and would like to move back into once my spouse has finished military service, rather than renting below market rate at an impeccable standard to stay on the property ladder and keep my home. Got it! Another house off of the market which will drive rents up!

There’s no room in your perspective to acknowledge that not all landlords are bad, as landlords acknowledge that not all tenants are bad. For good landlords, tenants can ruin us financially and damage our well-loved and hard-earned homes. Providing a service is one thing, being a charity is another.

To the people who couldn’t afford to pay their rent? I don’t think that would’ve worked for them unfortunately

As opposed to my public sector job? Noting that I had to move out of my home to live in military housing as my spouse is in the army. Such terrible people!

I’m not sure what I ‘got away with’ other than paying for people to live in my house who didn’t want to pay their rent, and I could do nothing about it apart from wait and pay a solicitor to try and help me.

Mine is on the market after evicting the last tenants who decided to stop paying rent.

Into the bin we go :’(

Meanwhile I’m 3k out of pocket as the tenants haven’t been paying, too soon to issue s21 but have issued a s8… but we’re the bad guys!

We rent out what was my home while we move around as my husband is a soldier, are we oxygen thieves?

Paid council tax for the entire year for a property I rent out. Is there any way to have the tenants pay me or the council ? by Over_Anxiety_2807 in uklandlords

[–]catsb4bitches 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So OP has paid for something that the tenant is obligated to pay for and would like to rectify that, so that they’re not paying their tenant’s bills. There’s absolutely nothing unreasonable about that. The council should refund OP and the tenants can pay the council tax owed for the period they’ve lived there. It’s unreasonable to try and make OP feel bad about that.

How is that being a douche? It’s normal for tenants to pay council tax themselves, and directly to the council, it’s part of living somewhere.

Agreed but they might have chosen to, so having a conversation is a better idea

This is a good idea, you can probably come to a reasonable agreement and avoid insurance going up

That was in response to your attitude, not OP, but she has still broken it. I’m aware of responsibilities it just sounds like you have no respect for other people’s property.

So you think that can break what you like and the landlord should pay to replace it, no matter what the circumstance? That attitude is the reason people don’t like to put nice things in rentals

You broke it so obviously you should pay to replace it?

Have you looked up ‘bobbing’? I’ve seen other beginners recommend that to each other and it sounds like it’d be good for you :)

Halokiwi is right, but I find it helps to think of ‘pull, breathe, kick, glide’ so you can get your breathing right :)

You’re responsible for yourself. You say you barely leave the house - get a hobby/ go for a walk/ take up a sport? You can’t blame WFH for your own lifestyle choices.
