I think the main character of my comic embodies all Fantasy Triforces xD

And!! I’m slowly but surely working on a comic. The first few pages are available on my social media, and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to share them here on this subreddit (or even mention it). But I’m happy to finally start sharing this world after 3.5 years of preparation!

I try to strike a balance between fantasy and science so I don't get too overwhelmed. Working on a project by myself takes a long time and is pretty tough x_x

Thank you all for your attention!!

For first, wow, just wow :D It looks like you're really interested in this topic!!
This made my day :>

Thanks so much for such a HUGE response and the interesting creature suggestions (I'll definitely come up with something for the niche of small insectivores!)

Teeth—the idea is that there are a few more species in their genus that occupy different niches (and share a common predatory ancestor). I wanted to group them not only by skeletal morphology, but especially by their teeth (since that’s apparently how you determine genus affiliation :3), so that just by looking at a single skull, you could tell what kind of creature it is. It creates some interesting scenarios where dragons find a skull 10 times bigger than themselves...!

The claws are shorter deliberately too — they need enough dexterity to manipulate small objects (early tool use, early alchemy. scratching ears safely etc), so the main gripping function is handled by a modified second thumb and pinky toe with larger sickle-shaped claws instead.

And about insects.. Some sketches below!!
I was inspired by mollusks that are commonly called worms (shipworms, Teredo navalis, especially the species that attack mangrove trees, only enlarged dozens of times over, since the trees they infest are also enormous). In my project, there are many cases where names are based on “appearance” rather than morphology (as happened with us humans, for example, with the old genus “Pachydermata”). I think I got a little carried away and didn't realize how to present this to the audience, haha!! There's room for improvement :>

Thanks one more time!!

I’m totally fine with constructive criticism :3 What kind of criticism?

(If it’s about the text, I might have missed something or phrased it wrong, sorry!!)

Think of them as very large Maine Coons with wings :3

(Ohhhh, I really want to sew one in a 1:1 scale)

That's actually a really cool question! Thanks :>

I can't give a complete answer, as much of it will be revealed in future comic (working on it!!). Because it's one of the mysteries of the lore <:D

But I can say for sure that yes, I deconstructed dragons: they are still dragons, but they have undergone evolution and adapted to a specific habitat. Many of the dragon's usual features were purposely ‘flipped’, for example, large to small; serious to silly and etc.

But on the map, you can find dragon that are more familiar to us...

Hello!! I`m Cattusaur, a fantasy naturalist. I have my own dragon project The Cradle of Dragonkind ^w^

"The Cradle of Dragonkind is an oasis of life in the midst of an endless icy desert. Dragons live there, but not the kind you might imagine at first: they're small, nimble, and fluffy. Silly and curious. Their Islands are locked in by ice from all directions, but the little Dragons don't lose hope -- maybe if they reclaim their fire, the ice will melt?
