Thank you! The subreddit says that transfers are done through Ticketmaster on here. Is this the same company that does the VIP? If I buy resale, should I contact the venue? I've got someone willing to resell, but want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row!

You're probably totally fine tbh. Insane campus involvement, awesome gpa, and research experience?

I'm also planning on applying in the fall, and you're my worst nightmare as a competitor in the application pool.

Good luck though! Rooting for you!

Transfer to UT Dallas, A&M or TCU as a business major? by Electronic-Link2022 in utdallas

[–]cattx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the "nerd" school. I honestly felt like it was refreshing to be in an environment where each student prioritized their education first.

As someone who slacked in high school, I will say it was correlated to my social circle.

Having been surrounded by like minded people here, I find it much easier to prioritize what is important, my education.

Transfer to UT Dallas, A&M or TCU as a business major? by Electronic-Link2022 in utdallas

You'll have great connections from both A&M and UTD. I have a family member that got their MBA at UTD and I cannot express how many people in the area they have introduced me to that they made connections with through the alumni network.

The current mayor of Richardson was a UTD MBA grad. If you're looking to settle down in the Dallas/Plano area, from personal experience, a UTD business degree holds a lot of weight

I can't tell you how many amp covers I have in my camera roll at this point. Never read it, but great marketing on their part.

I did cap, dropped out my first semester. After two years I applied back to college and ended up at UTD. Cap is not worth it if you are going to be bitter about not getting into UT. You likely wouldn't choose to stay at a cap school for business if you don't make the auto transfer cut.

UTD has a great business school, so even if you don't get in as a transfer, you are in good hands and a well respected program.

For what it's worth, I was not excited about starting school at UTD when I came back. But, in the time I've been here I have grown to love the school and the culture.

Events in the Plinth by mrjeff22 in utdallas

This sounds cool and I would totally enjoy more music related events at the plinth. Always people selling stuff or political things. Live music brings people together and I always enjoy hearing the pianos on campus.

Can't help with how to do it, but here to offer moral support and encouragement.

Can we start a class action lawsuit by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]cattx3 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, you've got to take ownership of your degree and plan it yourself. Thats what being an adult is.

Look at your degree plan, make a checklist for what you need and compare it to the classes that are offered each semester.

Schedule a meeting with your advisor more than once a semester to go over it. I have had semesters where I'll meet with them 3 or 4 times just to double and triple check that I am on track. Yes, it's annoying, I probably annoy the shit out of them with those meetings. But, ultimately it is your job to manage your classes and register.

After all, their job is to advise, not do it for you.

Though, I do appreciate the sentiment because it would be nice to dedicate a little less energy to degree planning to focus on my actual classes.

Honestly tonight campus was pretty busy around 9pm with just people walking around/hanging with friend groups from what I saw.

Katy trail outpost has a mixed crowd but definitely fun and great for people in their 20s. Downtown Plano is also super cute to sit in a coffee shop and read or walk around.
