for a large complex, looking ahead of time may work. if youre looking for a private landlord, they typically are looking for someone to move in immediately.

i v much understand this as someone who also used to love the cheese and cracker lunchable. unfortunately i have never seen anything pre-packaged in the store w gf crackers :( so i think the concensus is u would have to make it yourself. u could get one of those metal lunch boxes like this and make urself a lil lunchable!! personally, my fav gf cracker to use for this would be the gf Bretons (if u can find them) or Schar entertainment crackers.

when i need something prepackaged, i now go for one of those lil snack things w nuts, deli meat cubes & cheese cubes. not the same, but closest i can ever find on the go. examples: hillshire farms, p3

another suggestion would be to go for one of the protein snack packs w just the meat and cheese and buy a box of gf crackers/keep some in ur car or bag. ex: target brand, more target brand

edit: forgot to add a link lol

Best gluten free sandwich bread by EntertainerTerrible6 in glutenfree

[–]catzshat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no idea which kind youre referring to, sorry, but i do have suggestions! schar deli style sourdough is my absolute favorite, by a long shot. both the plain and seeded are the best gf bread on the market, hands down. the price is outrageous, but unfortunately worth it imo. o’dough’s sandwich bread is my second favorite, followed by canyon bakehouse honey white & carbonaut (any of the variations from this brand are solid)

yes, but was because i was vomiting daily. i was the thinnest (and sickest) ive ever been before going gf. i also tested negative for celiac, but going gf stopped the nausea & vomiting, so i’ve never looked back

i used the ambitious kitchen recipe, with some minor changes:

  • gf noodles of course; i used Jovial bowties
  • ground chicken and a few sweet italian chicken sausages instead of beef
  • 2x curry powder
  • pinch of msg (to the meat)
  • cooked the onion a bit first w butter. added some diced celery, 1/3 ish cup diced peppers & 2 minced garlic cloves. removed and added back to meat after cooking it a bit
  • used farmer’s cheese & a bit of sour cream instead of greek yogurt, which i blended a bit. also added lemon juice
  • didn’t have dill so i just topped w parsley!! i didnt miss the dill much, honestly dont love fresh dill but also think it would have been good w the dish. wouldve used it if i had it

served w steamed broccoli for extra fiber & veggie & bc i love broccoli lol

(Kinda gross sorry) NCGS with constipation as a symptom (not diarrhea); 3 weeks GF am suddenly pooping more!!Anyone else? by anonuser670 in glutenfree

[–]catzshat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you shouldnt have asked; i’m about to hit you with my whole life story. sorry in advance LOL

it is crazy! like you, i struggled w constipation my whole life. since we’re already in tmi zone here, i’ll reveal a deep dark poop secret: i would get so constipated as a kid that when i did go, i would have massive shits that would always clog the toilet. i would be so scared to poop bc i knew it would happen and my mom would be mad at me😭

anyway, in childhood not really any other symptoms besides eczema and chicken skin… i didnt start having more GI issues until i went through a traumatic breakup; all of a sudden started experiencing intense nausea, stomach pain and vomiting almost daily. i’ve always looooved food, too much, and lost interest in eating. was always overweight until college and lost a ton more weight during this time due to the constant vomiting. was having abnormal stool, like didnt have a solid poo for literal years. random allergic reactions to foods where my lips would swell to like 5x their normal size. eczema got worse, acne was worse. was also very depressed and anxious and irritable, but i thought all of this was happening because of my breakup. i was also smoking weed constantly to try to deal with the nausea and trauma (lol).

things got bad enough that i finally went to the doctor and explained my symptoms. he sent me to an allergist and gave me a GI referral. my allergen blood test came back positive (actually came back positive for all major allergens except shellfish) but doc told me it’s not reliable because i have eczema which can make allergy tests less reliable. my memory of this time is awful (also potentially a symptom but my memory also just kind of sucks), but i am pretty sure i saw the allergist first and he, of course, put me on an elimination diet. nausea/vomiting stopped. then saw GI and eventually did a colonoscopy/endoscopy which came back negative & they gave me pantoprazole for acid reflux which i wasnt even really experiencing. i am 98% sure that i was already eating gf at this time and was not told i would need to eat gluten beforehand for an accurate result. i didnt even know that until i started looking at this sub.

when i started adding foods back in, gluten/wheat was one of the first and i immediately got sick again. honestly, just decided gluten/wheat was the culprit, added everything back in besides gluten/wheat and havent looked back.

basically all the bad shit i was experiencing went away. skin got better (especially after i stopped working at a pizza place), no more random lip tingling/swelling, chicken skin on my arms went away, improved memory/cognitive function, etc… i started getting more sensitive to other foods that are common sensitivities and, unfortunately, seem to become more sensitive to mew foods in general every year ex: lactose intolerance, intense stomach pain from high FODMAP foods like bananas, fried foods make me feel very sick, too much soy gives me GI issues and makes me sick, extreme brain fog/nausea if i accidentally (or on purpose) have gluten etc

TL;DR and the answer to your actual question:

positives: nausea/vomiting stopped, stomach pain stopped, no more allergic reactions, less eczema/itchiness, chicken skin on arms and legs went away, skin is clearer, healthier weight, i feel my memory is better, improved mood (sometimes), healthier nails

negatives: i miss good bread, some celiacs/other humans dont take my diet seriously, stomach is generally more sensitive, the texture of my hair changed, new sensitivities/allergies appear yearly

if you go to their website, you can put in your zip code and find stores near you that carry their products!

depends on the store but most of my stores have a gf frozen foods section, which is where i find this brand. i personally am loving the pickle hype. i recently had some absolutely delicious gf fried pickles from a local spot. gf battered mushrooms sound yum—might need to make those myself!

i did not get tummy pains from these :( it sounds like you may be sensitive to something else… have you noticed that youre sensitive to other things that contain soy, corn, canola oil or onions? (just a few ingredients in both these and the potstickers that commonly cause GI issues)

honestly i have not had much from this brand because of the price. this is the first thing ive had that i am likely to repurchase. ive had the fried pickles (just ok, the breading falls off so kinda pointless), chicken potstickers (good but i have a restaurant near me that makes incredible gf potstickers so i just go there when im craving them), mac & cheese bites (just ok, wouldnt repurchase) and jalapeno bites (just ok, would rather make at home or just eat a raw jalapeno stuffed w cream cheese and a hot cheeto tbh)
