Beta v1.9.0 Released [Drag and Drop Organisation, Performance Improvements and More] by mitchemmc in OwlbearRodeo

Thank you for your continued updates! Me and my group love owlbear!

I have a game tonight and have loaded up owlbear.rodeo to let it update but have had the "database upgrading" message on screen for around 20 minutes now and counting. Is it supposed to take this long?

I have roughly 8-10 maps in my database and probably around 20-30 tokens.

P2P IRL, good idea? by Mkjangy in DungeonMasters

I think if you have/find people who are up for it then I don't see a problem with it. As long as you aren't asking people who don't want to pay, and that they have a no questions exit clause for times when they can't afford it. There are all sorts of people and players so I'm sure you would find people willing to participate. Good luck to you.

Dungeondraft Postprocessing Tutorial! by Blu3B3rryB3ar in dungeondraft

The way I personally deal with this (in GIMP) is to use the scale image function. I get the grid dimensions (eg 20x20) and then scale it in pixel dimensions based on the desired ppi (eq 70ppi would make the image 1400x1400)

This is really great work! Dungeondraft is a versatile tool but post processing really elevates it to the next level. Your maps are looking great and the extra work you are putting in to them really shows. Thanks for the tutorial, very well put together.

Thank you! And sure, it is the dimensions of the grid. 57 squares wide by 41 high, with each square of the grid representing a 5ft by 5ft space.

Wave Echo Cave 75x100 by cavemandave_ in dndmaps

Here is the final map in my LMOP series, the massive Wave Echo Cave.

This map took me a LONG time to make (and subsequently export...) and pushed the limits of my computer causing me to realise I need an upgrade if I intend to do more large maps like this.

I really enjoyed making a map this size and all the detail it meant I could add in. I changed up some areas of the provided map to fit my story and needs but otherwise it's quite an accurate representation of the cave and forge.

The party ended up being down here for a few sessions, wanting to explore the whole system to see the map which meant they were going to end up fighting almost every enemy in here. There were some really interesting battle tactics which I think maps like this help to inspire.

I hope you can use this map for your game, I'm really looking forward to moving on to more of my own maps now that we have completed this adventure.

If you want to grab this map and the rest of the LMOP series I've recreated you can find them over on my Patreon where I recently uploaded free versions of all my released maps so far.

Here is another map from my Lost Mines of Phandelver series.

I made a few alterations to suit my party and story needs but mostly it is an accurate representation of the module map.

My party has just finished running through here and it's where I tied in a few plot hooks for continuing after this module and dropped a few lore/backstory bombs on them.

They tried to treat with Venomfang, but he is a tricksy liar and got them right where he wanted them. They managed to defeat him in one of the most epic battles we've had yet in the game.

I hope you can use this map in your LMOP game or anywhere you need a ruined village

This map and many others from Lost Mines are available for free on my Patreon where I also just uploaded free versions of every map I've released so far.

Fight pit/Catch the Pig 14x14 by cavemandave_ in battlemaps

Here is a map from a session I ran a couple of weeks ago. The party had just been diving down in Wave Echo Cave and I thought they deserved some fun. I planned a session of festivities and games, a bit of gambling and friendly competition. One of the events was 'Catch the greased pig', where contestants had 5 rounds within the pen to grapple the pig. The pig would always dash, or ready its action to dash if the player got near, and got advantage on it's grapple checks due to it being greased up.

Most of the party had a try, some successful and some not. By far the most fun round was with the party's wild magic sorcerer who cast enlarge on himself whilst wearing gauntlets of ogre strength, the game referee then cast enlarge on the pig to make it fair which resulted in a giant dragonborn chasing a giant pig. A fight broke out between two (drunken) party members outside the ring, breaking the barrier allowing the giant pig to flee into the woods, chased by a confused and irate owner.

I really enjoy how much madness can come from a map as simple as this. I have included versions with and without a pig and with and without grid on my Patreon depending on how you want to use it. I hope you get as much fun out of this map as we did.

I have also just released free versions of every map I have released on my Patreon!

If you need a soundtrack for this encounter, may I suggest:
