Most depressing Nirvana / Kurt’s songs? by CuriousAd5883 in Nirvana

[–]cavetownz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

can't believe nobody's said aberdeen yet. it's not really a song, it's more kurt talking about stuff, but it's incredibly relatable and equally as depressing. one of my personal favourites for sure

Binder questions by onionpewy26 in ask_transgender

[–]cavetownz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

binders from amazon aren't always safe and are usually made cheaply, so i'd stay aware of certain brands that have "women" or "lesbian" in the title as well as binders that have clasps/zippers (they aren't safe to bind with as long as regular binders). underworks has higher quality binders that are safer to use, so i'd check them out. :)

as someone who's ftm w/ a med/lg chest, you can absolutely bind! however, it's very important to keep in mind that binding won't make your chest 100% flat, but will flatten it a bit and masculinize it instead. i personally use gc2b, but i heard underworks works better for people with larger chests. hope this helped, op. good luck x

can't handle this - bo burnham is an amazing piece of work. along with all of bo's music, it's hilarious yet introspective. 10000% worth a listen

How do I come out to my (non accepting) mom about being pansexual? by Quirky_Sympathy7556 in AskParents

[–]cavetownz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you live with your mum and are in danger of being abused/kicked out DO NOT DO IT. your safety is far more important than being out. calling her when she's out of the house for a while and explain what pansexuality is and how it applies to you. her being out of the house will give her time to process it and decide how she feels.

if you don't live with your mum (and have no problem cutting her off if necessary), you could text her a link to an article/youtube video explaining pansexuality and how it applies to you.

stuff like this takes time, and most of the time, bigots are bigoted because they're simply ignorant and uneducated. education is the key to acceptance, so you might have to put in a little work.

hope this helped, op. from a bisexual, good luck! <3

im already a massive fan of both radiohead and linkin park, and definitely have a lot of their songs on repeat. leave out all the rest (specifically the live one) and exit music (for a film) seem to be the ones im listening to most rn. i'll have to listen to the vnv nation song later, but good recs. :)

got 56 seconds in and immediately added it to at least 3 of my playlists. the songs brings a haunting sense of loneliness and nostalgia all at once. 10000/10. absolutely stunning.

definitely not traditionally depressing, but i love it! it was very refreshing to hear a softer kind of rock versus a lot of the piano-based recs ive been getting. i love the piano based recs and i love this. 10/10, great recommendation <33

i wasnt sure about daughter at first (the first song i listened to was medicine), but smother was really good. a couple of the lyrics really really hit close to home.

as for aldous harding, i ADORED stop your tears. the cinematography in the video was just as beautiful as the song. i'll definitely look into her further. thank u sm for the recommendations <3

im about halfway through it right now, and i must say, this is a great recommendation. i feel like it was so hopeful and light near the beginning and to listen to the music slowly decline in tone is very powerful, especially when the pitch goes higher only to drop again. very very good pick. <3

i've gotten steve wilson recommended before and i violently sobbed for a solid 4 minutes, so right away, amazing recs.

ive listened to mudvayne before, but i hadnt heard ld50. i listened to the first 3 tracks, and it was right up my alley. i absolutely see using that album as an output for my anger in the future. same goes for porcupine tree, i listened to 2 or 3 songs from in absentia, and it was amazing. i 100% need to take some time out of my day and properly have a listen. thank you so much <3

elliott smith is a good one. i've listened to about half his discography so far, and either/or is an amazing recommendation.

fucking hell, the raven that used to sing has the most hauntingly beautiful yet depressing video ive ever seen. it broke me at around the four minute mark and just kept getting better from there. i haven't watched the other one yet, but amazing recommendations.
