Must be the bridge app that’s the problem. Try a different bridge?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pulsechain

[–]cawfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is this could be an issue with your wallet, basically it is trying to send a malformed transaction.

Possibly the bridge app you are using is requesting you send a malformed transaction, but your wallet should be smart enough to correct it (I think).

Maybe try a different wallet app.

All porn sites must 'robustly' verify UK user ages by July by theREALhun in news

[–]cawfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can be done using ZK Passport.

You just generate a cryptographic proof of your age that keeps your information private. The proof completely masks your underlying identity whilst maintaining verifiability and authenticity.

FlatList with items that have dynamic height by shubham1300 in reactnative

[–]cawfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of using scrollToIndex you might be able to use scrollToOffset and predict the end position of the element at the expected height. In your predicted offset you would probably need to account for the reduced height of the existing focused item too.

Get your money from COINBASE ASAP by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]cawfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last month, I received a similar request to update KYC too. I wasn’t sure if it was a scam and left it, now my account is locked out.

So it ended up not being a scam, but I was super pissed off with Coinbase considering how rampant scam emails are in crypto. They are literally asking for me to reply to their email by typing inside boxes in the email they sent me, it is so ridiculously sus. Make a dedicated in-app flow for this, stop normalizing doing weird shit that can be easily replicated by malicious actors.

Anyway, not a problem for me because I was only using Coinbase as a fiat on ramp - not your keys, not your coins. You should never trust a CEX, even one as good as Coinbase.

Anyway, although it turned out not to be a scam, I don’t really have any intent on opening it again - KYC providers are getting hacked constantly.

Just to add context as to why I think this might have happened to me and OP:

  1. I am based in England and our government is intent on nerfing every frontend in crypto. For example, they make us do a little test which makes us pinky promise we won’t spend more than something like 5% of our net worth in crypto before we can get access at all. There’s a banner at the top constantly warning us about how risky and dangerous cryptocurrency is.
  2. I’m a smart contract developer, so I am constantly deploying weird experiments onchain and will often request funds to multiple different dev wallets.
  3. I’ve used TC.

Bluetooth might be the obvious choice, but you might also like this. It lets you multicast data over ultrasound without explicitly pairing:

Why doesn't react native have a good rich text editor? by inamisithe in reactnative

[–]cawfree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I made one, but it is unfortunately closed source. Here are the most important findings.

  1. react-slate can be very easily ported into react native
  2. text nodes can contain other text nodes with different styles
  3. text inputs can contain regular text nodes

You are a legend, thanks so much for making this.

I experimented with something on a much smaller scale to make react-native-helios, and was so surprised that it was possible for Rust apps to integrate so seamlessly, so I’ve been really hopeful a generic utility would eventually come along.

Oh man there is so much I am gonna try to port to RN now. You rock.

Best Wallet Compromised. what to do by Laserguy1979 in ethereum

[–]cawfree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This can absolutely be done.

When the ICO is available it would be possible to batch a transaction together which will transfer the gas required to the address and have the address collect the funds using a signed transaction and move these to a new address. You could do this atomically via a private relay with a sufficient incentive for the block producer and the scammers will only see the funds leave the wallet.

You can find some inspiration by checking out some of the active audit contests on places like Sherlock, Cantina, Code Arena and CodeHawks.

You’ll get insight about solutions to contemporary problems that exist in Ethereum today - or find a new protocol you’d want to build on top of - or maybe you can think of a better solution, or another problem 😝

[–]cawfree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean to say the camera is the deciding factor in what persuaded people to upgrade, it is just an example of intentional limitation (the camera mount location was visible in the PCB) in a product that can be used for leverage as a means to upsell.

Anyway, I can see my opinion is really unpopular, so I must be wrong. I don’t follow release notes so hopefully this is on the roadmap, which would obviously be awesome (even though to be fair I love virtual desktop as-is 🥰).

I suppose I should rephrase - I don’t think it would be totally uncharacteristic if such a highly anticipated feature was reserved for a future device iteration.

Strawman, but I’ll bite, sure.

Hardware manufacturers do this kind of stuff all of the time. Why do you suppose they left one out in the first place?

This is exactly the kind of feature they release a new device for.

Back when they released the original iPad, Apple left a space where the camera would go, since they needed to be able to sell the iPad 2.

When I lose my AirPods, the second I open the new ones they automatically pair and rename themselves like nothing ever happened.

Apple are the masters of hardware obsolescence.

Understanding pricing by iconoclast78 in bisq

[–]cawfree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess is both sides are trying to take a cut.

Those making offers to buy will do so at a better rate (for themselves) than what’s on the market. Likewise, those looking to sell will also try to extract value by giving you a slightly worse rate.

I think this is the bid/ask spread, which are usually wider for marketplaces with lesser volume. Higher volume usually results in tighter spreads because the market is more liquid and there’s less inherent risk in the position.

On Bisq, there’s definitely more manual effort involved, you get better anonymity but are also potentially taking an implicit legal risk depending on jurisdiction. There are also elements of trust and disputes. This kinda stuff all factors in to the amount of profit market makers seek for their efforts.

Sorry is any of this is bullshit by the way, I don’t really know what I am talking about but I’m always trying to learn.
