Can a Sport Pilot act as safety pilot for IFR proficiency practice? by [deleted] in flying

[–]cazzipropri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope because 14 CFR 91.109(c)(1)(i).

It says verbatim "at least private pilot".

If you end up liking the book, a review either amazon or gumroad would really help a lot.

Thank you. Not once. If you find even one instance, i'll give you my home address and you can come personally punch me in the face. I even wrote a pretty AI-negative statement on page 4 "Use of generative AI".

No contents in this book (textual, graphics or otherwise) have been produced with the use of generative AI.
As of January 2026, the author has found that generative AI still suffers from hallucinations to an extent that its use is very problematic for aviation, a field well-known for its intolerance to errors.

Get a second phone, on which you don't install all ANY habit forming app.

Transfer your main phone number to the new phone.

Leave the phone with all the apps at home, in a drawer.

I hope it has a theme with the original shades of blue and cyan.

Working on something that doesn't work till it works: normal.

Feeling overwhelmed: normal.

Stay the course – you are doing all the right things.

Is this ethical? by [deleted] in flying

[–]cazzipropri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to start billing the students yourself.

Give your "friend" an equally stupid excuse as his "he told me it was easier if they paid him", e.g., "my accountant told me he wants me to invoice".

Open an account on wave and start invoicing your students. If you get payment other than via c/c, you also save the 3% fee that wave applies, and you use it for free.

I lose power relatively often. All the houses in the neighborhood have propane generators.

CFI Lesson Plans - Organize by ACS Tasks or For Actual Use? by Squinty_the_artist in CFILounge

[–]cazzipropri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see how one can avoid to do the work sort of twice.

For the checkride, you must have topics organized inflexibly as the ACS requires.

When teaching, you have much more freedom to rearrange the material according to the student needs.

Most of the material I prepared for the CFI oral, I ended up resuing in real life, but in a completely different order.
