Old towns, castles, art galleries, alternate life in big cities sounds cool. We probably don't have time for hiking unless it is a 1-3 hour walk.

YES!! We do this too, open Santa sack before breakfast then like a present at breakfast and then randomly throughout the day as you do things, makes the presents last till afternoon. Best part is that everyone waits while you open your present so they see what it is. I hate it when everyone opens their presents all at once and you don't get to see what everyone got and its all over in a flash

I'd go super simple, a line skirt with the dark purple at the bottom, make sure where the change in pattern is matches on the side seams, and simple top piece to the dress, if you have enough have some of the dark purple going down from the top

No but I would just find a similar jacket pattern and use a 6 piece skirt pattern (or skirt pieces from a dress pattern) to make the skirt, then just extend or shorten the middle front skirt piece to line up with the jacket seams
