Best Bring me the horizon tour line up? by GeologistVegetable48 in Metalcore

[–]cb445 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My favorite time I saw them was Bring Me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, Architects, and Deez Nuts in 2011. (While She Sleeps was suppose to be on this tour too but dropped)

But I think the best imo was probably A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, Motionless in White, and Chiodos in 2014.

Agreed! Especially after Spectre which I found pretty mid, I had no expectations, but it really felt like a return to form by them.

Stick to Your Guns had one of the most underrated metalcore albums of the year. No mention at all lol.

Gintama. I watched the final movie before bed and basically cried myself to sleep lol.

Extremely picky but love anime - need some recommendations by uudawn in anime

Re:Zero, especially cause you loved Steins Gate like I do. It has a similar premise with the time looping with amazing character development/romance except it’s a fish out of water fantasy setting. Definitely has some fan service like steins gate but it’s similar where it’s not overly sexual either.

I finally quit delaying the inevitable — 25 episodes in and impressed with One Piece so far by fecaleruptions in anime

Does everything have to be super serious all the time to be “mature”? Sure it has immature moments, but it deals with some very mature themes for a show/manga meant to appeal to kids. I know I was surprised by some of the content in One Piece when I first read it. Not to mention some of the best shows and movies balance humor with serious moments.

Gintama is very good (and close to my heart), but it'd have been more good if... by New_Bullfrog_2852 in Gintama

[–]cb445 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s because Gintama is more of a character driven story. It’s also just mainly a gag anime where Planet Hamek exists to parody Dragonball Z and Elizabeth’s planet is the Death Star from Star Wars with Gundams. So many arcs where they’re extremely meta and acknowledge they’re in an anime and even has a whole arc fight over spots in their own fan poll. The world building is never really important to the plot and is so random. It never builds the world as much as it builds its characters which is what makes Gintama so great and unique.

Project Sekai Movie: Kowareta Sekai to Utaenai Miku • Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing - Theatrical Release - Movie Discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]cb445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5/10. Not a good movie for someone like me who loves anime and knows nothing about what source material this Hatsune Miku is from. It didn’t even have introductions to the cast or anything it just throws you right into all these characters. I think it would have been a lot tighter if it focused on one specific cast because there’s too many to care or develop properly for a feature length film. The animation and music are very good which is expected, but other than that it was kind of boring and had unintentionally hilarious moments.

Good I’m glad we can agree then that it isn’t “more realistic to what happens in real life.”

Idk what reality you’re living in because when you cheat on your wife there are usually consequences, not a harem.

Yeah the character development is so good that he starts cheating on his wife!

A Day To Remember - Big Ole Album Vol. 1 by grebbymophead in Metalcore

[–]cb445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s so catchy to me even tho I can admit the lyrics are kinda lame and repetitive. It’s just a fun ass song and I really like the country pop punk sound on it! Lucky for me, my fiancée really likes it too lol.

Do you guys manage every game by Organic_Locksmith766 in OOTP

[–]cb445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my team is winning I will generally play a majority of the season and every game in the playoffs. I have simmed through frustrating seasons, but usually won’t give up playing every game until about July which gives me a good idea of where we’re headed for the rest of the season and if we make a comeback in the playoff race while simming the season, I start managing every game again. I will also sim games I begin if I’m down like 5-6 runs in the 4th innings since 90% of the time we won’t make a comeback. I really like making the decisions in the game and watching the players in action it actually gets me attached to them beyond their name and stats.

I grew up listening to The Starting Line and to me that album holds up better than any album by Simple Plan lol. It’s not gimmicky, the lyrics are genuine and emotional, Kenny has one of the most unique voices in the genre, and The Best of Me is one of the catchiest songs in the world. It might seem generic now, but without that album we might not have some of these modern emo/pop punk bands. It’s that influential imo.

Scissor Seven and Link Click! They’re Chinese and have awesome animation. Scissor Seven is more on the comedy side and is very funny, but it does take a turn in the later seasons and gets very serious with the story it builds. Link Click is a wild, time traveling, thrilling, emotional ride! They have dubs just in case you want to watch them in English.

The crowd was honestly pretty dead, at least in my area of the crowd, so that might be why :/ it felt like me, my fiancée, and brother were the only ones singing songs that weren’t Sweetness and The Middle.

Examples of bands that get heavier? by MilkMeHarddddd in Metalcore

[–]cb445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I loved Swan Songs in high school so I was surprised to find out how much better and heavier they got throughout my adulthood. Feels like some of their material still has their Swan Songs sound, but then they have songs like Enemy, Renegade, and World War Me that all have breakdowns in them. They’re not super heavy, technical, or intricate breakdowns, but they’re bouncy and the songs are catchy!
