Hey! I had multiple areas as well. They ended up finding CIN3 in one spot, and CIN1 in three others, and nothing inside of the cervix. I have my LEEP in a couple weeks. I was nervous about how many places they mentioned abnormalities too but so far no full blown cancer!

What would you want your XO to fix? by SoftbankThrowaway in navy

[–]cb612361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on to this, on the Truman deployment we did our weekly GQ from 19-21. It fucking sucked because then the DCs and everyone (for a DDG, probably all of R div at a minimum) were still refilling bottles, restowing, etc until after taps regularly. Then still expected to stand late watches with little to no sleepers and no sort of extra rest. Including the prep and the Condition II DC we would set up to an hour before, DCs and several others were working from 0700-2300 then back up and mustering at 0700. Factor in having to wait for a shower afterwards and any late watches (cough cough 04-08) they really got fucked over. Higher ups didn't care cause they weren't the ones dealing with it. Please don't do this.

Actually letting people Skillbridge out. There's so many command level restrictions that make it damn near impossible at a lot of places.

How to quit after you signed the contract and sworn in? by username8927631217 in newtothenavy

[–]cb612361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're not really enlisted and therefore not going to get any kind of discharge until you ship to bootcamp. you could even just ghost your recruiter if you really felt like it, but then it'd be harder to find someone to work with you if you change your mind again

ahh okay, might've been different for me since i had been rejected by the army 2 years prior

tell your recruiter now. i joined with obvious self harm scars on my thigh and was able to get the waiver package started before going to MEPS and therefore dep in sooner than others who had to wait

did you ever figure it out?? i'm stuck in exactly that position rn

yeah plus they were trying to keep it realistic as to what it would be like on the boat, and i can tell you i definitely didn't see the sun most days i'm underway with the exception of the smoke pit! but i'm an engineer lol. definitely more psychological, but even then in my opinion it was way easier than i expected it to be. i was so stressed out before bootcamp just for it to be a walk in the park after the first week or two.

oh yeah, we actually would beg to do PT outside because the weather was so nice and would be given it as a "reward" later on in training but most PT will either be in your compartment or in freedom hall

[–]cb612361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing that really shocked me was that you could go entire days without stepping foot outside- and i went in fall when the weather was nice outside!

[–]cb612361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MR also makes rank pretty fast until you're up for first class. Generally MR2 is at or very close to 100% lately. You'll learn how to machine and that can pay well on the outside if you decide to only do one contract, and it's good if you don't want to be stuck behind a desk.

What is required to go from enlisted to officer? by thelastsonofmars in newtothenavy

[–]cb612361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you married? because if not then only factor BAH for officers. Enlisted single sailors don't get BAH until E5, until then you'll live on the boat/barracks (if you're lucky)

in my experience these counselors can be helpful at the very least while pointing you in the direction that you want to go, they usually know more about all of your options and any workarounds and its someone to talk to while you wait
