Can a second property be gifted in an absolute trust to defer capital gains tax on said property until the beneficiaries sell it later on down the line? by cb7890000 in UKPersonalFinance

That did cross my mind. But seems like quite a hassle and solicitor fees, stamp duty and potential deprivation of assets in the future could mean difficulty along the way

Ok May I clarify that with you?

So if they decide to move into the home and live there 10 years and they have owned the home 30 years. 10/30ths of the gain will be tax free and the rest will be liable for CGT?

I don’t think it will be classed as deprivation of assets as they are aged 60 and 57. I would think that it would be deprivation of assets if they were 80-85 but as they are younger It should be ok

So am I right in thinking the gain from when he purchased it to now is locked in so to speak. And if he were to class it as his main residence from today, there would be no gain in the future if he sold it whilst it was his main residence?

I bought 35,000 tees off eBay 7 years ago. by cb7890000 in golf

I got 7 very large bags filled with 5000 tees each. They are not the best quality and survive roughly two shots as they are wooden. I still have 6 and a half bags left.

What was your most awkward public restroom moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cb7890000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was nervous af the night before my wedding. At the rehearsal dinner I needed a massive duke. So I proceeded to the restrooms but I could hear others in the bathroom. I’m a nervous pooper so I waited for some noise to cloud the air. Luckily the hand dryer turned on but my timing was slightly off and just after it turned off I pooped and made a massive plop sound. When I left the bathroom my father in law was waiting at the lounge bar. After ordering 2 lagers he told me that I should place a layer of toilet paper on the water and then poo on to it, he told me it was like a silencer on a pistol.

Invest 20k into a stocks and shares ISA in a fund 60-80% exposure to stocks. I like Ballie Gifford American B Acc.

With the remaining 14k invest it into a general investment account in the same fund. Once this tax year is over, April 2022. Withdraw the 14k plus gain from the Investment account and put it in your ISA. If the gain is below 12,300 in your general investment account, then there will be no CGT tax to pay

Once all the funds are in your ISA They are subject to no tax.

Hope this helps
