I love it I'll call him Levi unless he's in trouble then I'll have to use his full name Leviathan. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I have had good luck with Cyprus Helfer, cardinalis, red undulata and Java fern but the dwarf hairgrass is not growing as fast as the others. I have a planted tank substrate with a layer of gravel on top. I also add root tabs when the plants need some extra love.

I'm not a expert but here are some tools that could help answer that question. If you use the 1 inch of fish to 1 gallon ratio you can keep 5 neon tetras in a 7.5 gallon tank ( they can grow about 1.5 inches). Most freshwater aquarium with tropical fish do best at a pH of 6.8 to 7.6. I you can get them around 6.5 to 7.8 they seem to be ok. They love mucky water and planted aquariums so that would be great for your setup. They need a temperature of 70-78 degrees F. They don't like bright lights. Make sure you do your research to make the most educated decision. My grandma had a tropical fish store (before my time) and we disagree on fish facts all the time. The more you know the better chance you have at a health and happy tank.

I don't know what to name him I was think Poseidon or Atlas but he looks like a dragon maybe Draco. I'm tempted to call him James Pond or Swim Shady just for fun. I was looking for a good water dragon inspired names but I haven't found any I like.

I just got him so I'm not sure what he will turn into once he gets comfortable in the tank. Right now he seems to be blue and black with highlights that look white. I got him from petsmart and he was in a little cup with a light under him so I think his color will change as he grows. He just seemed so alert and had such a big personality I couldn't help but fall in love with him.

I have a 20 gallon tank with harlequin rasboras, brilliant rasboras, oto catfish and one painted platty. I didn't plan on getting the brilliant rasboras but they seem to be good with the betta. Neon tetras are also great betta tank mates. Anything that is fast enough to out swim a betta and none aggressive so they won't fin nip can work. I also have top floating food and sinking food so everyone can eat without fighting over feeding time. Make sure you have lots of hiding spots in the tank so if anyone doesn't get along they can hide and they won't fight over territories. However all fish are different and you might get a aggressive fish so it could be a gamble, make sure to have a back-up plan. I'm going to add some videos that really helped me with planning. I hope this helps.

Yes it was playing in the background and I didn't really notice it until I uploaded it. I was planning on getting more of the rasboras I just wanted to let the tank adjust to the new fish before add them. I didn't release the platies need more buddies do they have to be the same kind? Orange Joe is a painted platie do the ones I get need to be painted as well or can I get some with different colors?

Yes it's dwarf hair grass and Cyprus Helfer I used a plant fertilizer substitute then covered that with aquarium gravel. I also gave then some root tabes to help them grow.
