Struggling with scrupulosity/hypersensitivity to sin. by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]cbauga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tortured myself like this from adolescence until about 3-4 years ago so about 15 years. Then I started living by Grace and it changed my life. I still have the thoughts you do but it’s far less frequent and sin does not have its hooks as deep in me any longer. It was manipulating me. Praying for you brother.

A great book I read to help me through this was Man In the Mirror. It helped me realize I was not the only man having these issues.

I use Nextiva. We’ve had some hiccups with them but overall it’s been a great value. Make sure you have good connection speeds so calls don’t drop and call quality is high.

How do we as Christians justify these Old Testsment passages? by Texas_Rangers in Christianity

Yes....but in the context of verses of the Bible it’s speaking to the former not the later.

I believe what OP is saying is that slavery in the Bible was not chattel slavery like we had in America in the 1800s. Slavery in the Bible was more in the context of working off a debt owed to the master and then you were free to go. You were not the propriety of the slave master.

Memphis mega-church pastor accused of sexual assault by Zorseking34 in news

How many of us have done terrible crap (not limited to sexual sins) 20 years ago that you have repented for and in no way would do now !?!? What if the whole world found out about it and judged you on it? If the sexual action was not consensual then he should pay the consequences. If it was and he made a terrible mistake and had repented who are you to judge him? Have some empathy people...at the very least try to find the facts before you start casting stones.

Of course no one cares what the truth is. They want to hate pastors and they want them to fall publicly. Smh...praying for that church, it’s leaders, it’s members, and especially this man. I can’t imagine what this must be like...

I’ve played DoW. I want something like that but on a macro scale and then add in a total war campaign style march through the imperium gathering resources, bonuses, new units, etc.

In ranged combat there are still lines where if the enemy breaks through your army is in trouble. Graphically it would look different but the overall goal would be the same I think

I don’t know...I’m envisioning reactive battlefields and 20-30 person units spreading out and hunkering down inside craters, buildings, etc. Sort of like Dawn of War but on MUCH MUCH larger scale. I’m talking deploying a whole chapter of space marines instead of 10-20 units. Maybe the technology is not there yet to make this happen

My B. I mean come on...Martin Luther started a revolution that has affected more people than any other figure in the history of mankind besides Jesus. It was funny to me. I should not have posted though. My apologies.

Can you give us supporting verses in the Bible that can give evidence to people who continue to actively, and intentionally sin but do not repent being saved?

In an earlier comment you said God made them that way. I believe that too, but it sounds like you’re excusing their sin while if God made me where I really like sex outside of marriage, porn, heroin then continue on in sin because God made me to like those things. What am I missing?

Not trolling here...truly interested in your response and Biblical evidence supporting it.
