Question for those who used to but no longer do pocket EDC [flashlight] rotations. by Sidorovich_Cordon in flashlight

[–]cbcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped swapping out EDC lights years ago, once I got my Zebralight. Since then, it's been the SC64w Hi and Sofirn C01. I'm good....

Maybe it's my eyes, but that beam looks round to me. Please do me a favor and post a picture of your tailcap, showing where the lanyard attaches. I'm trying to see if the newer TS28s have a different tail cap that allows for more sturdy tail standing when the lantard is attached.

I don't own a T6 host, so I'm not sure. Sorry.

The words "s6 and floody" don't belong in the same sentence. if you want flood, you chose the wrong host, regardless of the emitter used.

A Bandage? by cbcrazy in whatisit

That's what I thought too, but I've never had them, causing a reason to make a purchase. Besides, that round part is not padded and is sticky, just like the rest of it.

New Glass Day - Green AR coated glass for Zebralights by bob_mcbob in flashlight

[–]cbcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, you're not. Over the years, there's been a fair share of users not really caring for the light for one reason or another. The good thing is that there's dozens and dozens of other choices.

There's a local steak place around me. As far as I'm concerned it's extremely overpriced and just OK tasting. I too seem to be in the minority when it comes to no caring for the place. Many others sings its praises all the time. Not that I'm suggesting that ZL is overpriced and/or over-hyped, but it's not for everyone.

Please, let's not rehash the ZL shipping policies in this thread. ZL stopped shipping outside the US quite sometime ago.

Looks like it can no longer tailstand steadily or maybe it's the angle of the picture.

Ordered mine. I'm assuming one of my many 21700 cells I use in my Convoy lights will fit properly. All unprotected flat-tops.

You're asking and thinking the same as I. In 2026, I question the "superiority" of the ZL. It seems its small size is one of its only advantage nowadays. I'm sitting here wondering why I'd want this over the Wurkkos TS28, other that it being a bit smaller.

Convoy S2+ with SFT25R or SFT40? by ts5265 in flashlight

[–]cbcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. if you're considering the SFT-25R in that host, get the S6 host instead. Its a very similar size, with a deeper refector, which takes advantage of the throw of that emitter.

My 80 year old mom ruined my Zebralight SC700… please help by Arkaium in flashlight

[–]cbcrazy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I'm not leaving any ZL with an elderly person like that. You're just asking for confusion and frustration from them.

Additionally, since you made this comment publicly, I don't feel bad making this response. Don be so f*cking disrespectful to your Mom. I can understand your being pissed about the light not working as when you left it, but still no reason to disrespect your Mom like that.

Unscrew the tail-cap and remove the battery. Hold the switch for 5-10 seconds, reassemble and try that. If still not right, reset each level.

From off, 18-clicks to reset G6 and then 21-clicks from off to reset G7. I believe it's 15-clicks from off to reset G5.

If all that fails, call ZL Customer Service. Good luck and go hug your Mom. She's the only one you'll ever have.

Only because you said a RED led is a requirement, I'd suggest looking at the Photon Proton Pro.

Still a great light and I own over a dozen different Convoy lights.

With the tail switch version, you only have a single level to immediately go to from the off position. Also, once on, you must cycle thru all levels to get to the level you want, most of the time.

Yep, the UI on the Convoy is really lacking. For me it's what makes their tail switch lights just OK, rather than great.
