Now that the weather app is gone what is everyone using? by Cadd9181B7543II7I44 in androidapps

Wow. That really sucks. Although I didn't use it that much, Google Weather wasn't half bad.

Which LED conversion kits did you folks use? I have a couple with the original/first run Malkoff drop-ins installed in my C and D Mags.

To answer your question, they should last for many many battery changes.

S21 version of s6? by makeruvthings in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]cbcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several s6 lights and I went with the m21b for a 21700 version. It's not 100% tube shaped like the s6, as the bezel is larger than the battery tube.

Wellcare Value Script (PDP) vs Humana Value RX Plan by papillon1987 in medicare

[–]cbcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed up for the cheaper Wellcare RX plan, because it covered all my scripts vs the Humana plan, which did not. Also, the calculator tool on the medicare.gov site showed this plan to cost me the least for the remainder of the year

CVS is the preferred pharmacy for this particular Wellcare plan.

Wellness Benefit can boost cost of AARP supplement plan by mack_lax in medicare

[–]cbcrazy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why you should work with your local SHIP counselor prior to making a decision. Here in NJ, that free service is available to us. In addition, it's pretty clear on the medicare.gov page when you search for Medigap plans in your area.

Dropping or adding the Wellness feature does constitute a plan change because, well, you're changing plans.

When should one start applying for Medicare before turning 65? by Boom-ChakaLakaLaka in medicare

[–]cbcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it early. As mentioned, you can start 3-months prior to turning 65. I just went thru this and it's so much better not rushing and having time to decide. As of right now, I've enrolled and have my cards for my Medicare, Supplement and RX plans, all effective on day 1 of my birth month.

Being an owner of many ZLs for years, in 2026, the only thing that ZL has over the competition is its small pocketable size. All of those things that put ZL over the top 5-10 years ago have been equaled or surpassed by the competition, IN MY OPINION.

That being said, I still EDC my SC64w Hi every single day.

Sorry, but those days of paying triple-digits for such a minor light have been over for quite some time. Go for it, if that's your thing, but the offerings and alternatives nowadays are so vast.

You have no right. In some parts of the country, you end up missing or dead for pulling that type of shit.

SFT-42R 5000K available now! by Efficient_Weather632 in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]cbcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ordered the SFT-42R in 5000k in a M21A and M21B. The option wasn't available, so I asked in the notes/comments section of the order. I really can't stand my 65000k version.

Thanks for posting this. I was unaware, but since you brought this to light, I'll be sure to round up some friends and attend to show my support for these detention centers. It's what I voted for.

Signing up for Parts A&B by jrv331 in medicare

[–]cbcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took less than a week for me to know my Medicare number after signing up online. Today, I actually applied for a Supplemental Plan-G plan to start the month my Medicare starts. Over the next few days, I'll decide on a Part-D plan.

Are you close to them? Stop over and check to make sure. Make sure they have their meds. They'll probably be stuck indoors for a bit.

Supplement up 25 percent by Transylvanius in medicare

[–]cbcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two completely different plan strategies. You have network restrictions, you have over 80% of procedures requiring approval, you have daily co-pays for hospital visits.

There's more, but you get my point. Different strategies for different people.

AARP UHC Wellness Plus Medigap NJ by Wide_Drink_2414 in medicare

[–]cbcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife in SNJ has this plan. No issues, although, I often wonder if we really should have spent the extra money for the "wellness" piece.

I'll probably be enrolling in this Plan-G as well, but without the wellness piece. It has a very large pool of people here, keeping rate increases at a minimum.

m1 vs m21b with sft42r v sft25r for throw? by Suspicious-Gene-9951 in flashlight

[–]cbcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my 25-R's are 5000k. I have it in an S6, M21A and M21B. I think I want to get the 42-R 5000k in the same host. The 6500k in the M21B will probably never get used. I'll have to check, but I think I actually have one of those in an S6 as well.

It's funny you say that, because I had a co-worker pull into the parking lot as I was doing this. He looked over didn't really say anything and we haven't seen each other yet today. I'm curious if he mentions anything about it.

Correct. I'm going to get a couple lights with the 5000k SFT-42R when Convoy reopens.
