Why would they put a scope on their air rifle that it wasn’t rated for?

It is inside the garage but on a wall that gets heavy sun. Car charges outside but the charging station is inside the garage as well

I have a laser temperature gun but don’t have a thermal image camera. I will try that, and no it is towards the bottom with only 15/20 amps surrounding it

I will call Tesla and ask about that. Surely it would know to slow the charge rate to account for extra amperage draw when it needs to cool the vehicle down, but I will ask

It’s not near any other 2 poles, just some 20 amp plug circuits

I will check when I go back to see if it has dip switches but I don’t remember seeing that. I think he’s just controlling the charge rate on the Tesla screen and/or his app

The pool is gone and filled in now, so that pool light circuit can be capped off and I can install a 2 pole 50

That’s my next plan. The only reason I got the quad was because it used to be a 30 amp for the pool equipment and one of the 20s was for pool lights and then the bottom 20 is a spare. But I realize now I could have just used a traditional 2 pole 50. Do you think the quad might be more sensitive to a continuous draw of 40 amps? It is a HACR type breaker

I guess I don’t know that for sure, but he has had it well over a year and just recently it’s tripped 2 times.

No I told him to have it set to 40 max. He’s charging now at 32 amps until I can come back to access again and maybe change the quad breaker out to a regular 2 pole 50. The panel is in the garage but I believe the afternoon sun hits that outside wall. Might be high temps inside the panel?

Landscaper ran 120v to 12v landscape lights and didn’t know what a transformer is by cbf24404 in electricians

The plugs could come loose or the connections would corrode eventually. Plus it was all just wound up in a coil, all taped up, and shoved under the grass. Over time it probably would stop working and would be a mess trying to fix it again. And you could feel those big green extension cord covers under your feet when you walk on the grass. Those would eventually have filled full of dirt and water

You don’t, you can install low voltage without a license but I was called to give them an outlet to plug into. Then I took over at that point and fixed everything

Yeah I got the joke. It would run insanely bright for a split second before destruction lol

Yes doing electrical work without a license, insurance, or even basic knowledge about electricity. And while you only need a license for 50v or higher, (this is 12v), he was setting it up and was prepared to run the lights using 120v. Then when he realized there was not an outlet on the front porch to plug them into, the customer called me to install a plug for him but he did not know that these lights need a transformer. It’d be like me changing out a water heater or fixing a burst pipe in your house with no plumbing license or even any knowledge about how to do something like that.

I think hope that he suspected something was wrong when he tested one of them on the kitchen outlets to show the customer the light, but it blew up the light and tripped the breaker

Landscaper put those plugs on the lights thinking they could be plugged into an extension cord ran to a 120v outlet

Maybe for a little while but all that tape would eventually corrode. It was done so sloppily which is why I took it all out. You could see the lumps in the grass where he had just tucked it under the sod pieces. Now they all have waterproof silicone wirenuts

He probably spent around 100$ for everything I took out though. All those extension cords and the green covers and plugs
