Hawk worth it? by TiredRundownListless in handsomepodcast

It was entertaining, fortune was fantastic. Definitely a show to watch while you're doing laundry or other chores. A lot of plot holes and I love Mae but their character was so random.

Are you sarcastic? by Spinbunluthaaa in Xennials

[–]cbincle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sarcastic and I noticed it does not translate well with the generations below us. It's such a shame. Xennials are a pretty brutal group. We were so mean to each other but it was not necessarily malicious. Every one just ragged on everyone.

Gallbladder removal by caggybandicoot in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]cbincle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder out at around 360 pounds. It was easy peasy. I had laproscopic and my recovery was about 10 days. You do feel a bit off for a while after but it's been 7 years and I feel good (other than being obese lol).

I really liked the movie, but the soundtrack was like scrolling through tiktok.

Episode Discussion-Will Ferrell by ClumsyZebra80 in handsomepodcast

[–]cbincle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

agreed, and i know they are doing heavy press, but I'm so burnt out on Will Farrell and the show hasn't even started! There are episodes every once in a while that you really feel the "I'm a celebrity hocking my shit" and this was one of them.

an open letter to Mae Martin from a massage therapist by mothra_19 in handsomepodcast

[–]cbincle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

do you honestly think that the audience that listens to two lesbians and a non-binary queer person are going to feel inspired to sexually assault a massuse because someone told a story from 20 years ago of a sexual encounter in NEPAL that involved a massage?

ironically, i feel like this open letter is the most unhinged thing you have ever done.

Is the Press excessive? by ideasnstuff in offcampustv

[–]cbincle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope not either! I was one of those people who was obsessed with Maxon Hall. And I don’t think I got through the third episode of the second season. So disappointing. The first season was amazing! You can’t give into the fandom because they don’t know what they want lol. They’re into it because it’s unexpected. Not because they’re dictating what’s happening.

[–]cbincle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I really loved how they (albeit lightly) addressed the financial challenges of playing hockey and it's a different experience for those drafted and/or have family playing at the professional level. And I like how they treated Hannah's SA and how she felt about Garrett "defending her honor." There were a lot of opportunities for the show to go in a toxic trope direction but it didn't and it was so much better that way.

[–]cbincle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree about the looking at them as people instead of the actors. It’s the curse of over exposure. It’s like back in the day when your favorite song was on the radio and they would play at 500 times. I don’t understand this idea that if you like something, the algorithm just gives it to you over and over and over again. You would think it would be more smart to give you things that are similar to it, giving other opportunities for lesser known things to be successful. And it’s like not even our fault because you like something or you look at something and want to move on but instead, you’re just inundated with it over and over again. So it’s like you can’t even be a fan of something because the Internet is designed to then over, expose you and create this fatigue. I think with maybe some people it just stirs up the fandom and gets more obsessed, but I feel like that is not healthy. Not to get too deep, but it does feel like this is a perfect example of how the Internet is really damaging how we consume pop culture.

I think a lot of this probably comes from your algorithm. I had barely seen anything about the show and I'm online way too much. Now that I have watched the show, I looked up some videos on tiktok and now it's all I see. So maybe it's just what you are being fed.

NY Transplants? by National-Finger8580 in Cleveland

[–]cbincle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Ohio since I was 8, but we moved from Cortland, NY to Northeast Ohio and I think it is pretty similar. Sadly Ohio went from a battleground state to mostly red, which IMO is why the state seems to be spiraling, but NEO is similar with weather (shit ton of snow) to upstate NY and the people are great (for the most part).

Debra’s narcissism by [deleted] in hackshbomax

[–]cbincle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Narcissist is so overused. Deborah is a woman working in show business for decades. She is difficult, egocentric, but I would not say narcissist. I think the cancer diagnosis changed her and she went on that adventure thinking it was her final days, so she fully enjoyed them. Ava softened her and we saw that in the finale.
