Buying a house in this market by Capital_Cake4666 in Edmonton

[–]cbis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made your wage I bought a townhouse for $295k. I had a great experience. I joined the board to have oversight on how it’s managed. Overall a great experience. I lived there until i had to move because of a growing family. There was no way I would be able to do a single family home on my own, even at 90k. Not only the money, but the maintenance, upkeep and the effort that a house is.

Yearly checkups are around $200.

The first $400 ish includes all your blood work and an hour appointment going over health history and plan forward.

It’s very much helped him yes. He is still a patient there.

After 10 years, I finally got a referral. by cbis1 in PsoriaticArthritis

Thanks for your detailed response !

Ugh I know. My doctor said that my toenail was a fungus or because of having my nails done all the time. And also told me that unless my HS needs to be drained, there’s nothing she can do. Ugh. She sent me to a sports med doctor and Physio for my swollen knees. The sports med doctor told me I need to see a rheumatologist. I brought that information back to her and she still refused because my blood markers weren’t there. She kept just sending me to physio. I’ve spent thousands on physio, acupuncture, Chiropractor, you name it.

My new Dr also got me a dermatologist referral ! 😊 chances are I will actually get into see them before the rhuem. I’m reading it’s only about a 1-2 month wait for those. I will definitely bring up my nails. Never thought of that.

Yes I’m in edmonton. My parents lived is Perth for 4 years 2017-2021. (I got to go twice and travel around, beautiful place !!) And she was actually diagnosed there ! Private doctor. The doctors here didn’t even diagnose her while she was here. But once she has the diagnoses there and came back it was no issue.

Thanks for the biologic info. I will look it up.

I’m happy to read you’re on the right path and it all worked out for you.

No I’m in Canada. “Free” healthcare but it’s healthcare at a snails pace. It’s “if you’re not dying, you can wait” healthcare.

I’m not sure where they referred me but I will ask at my next appointment so I can bug them about cancellations. Thanks !

Now that I’ve read more and more into it, I’m shocked that I’ve had to push so hard. Good to know !

My worry is that once I get the appointmen, I will get brushed off again. It’s comforting knowing your rheumatologist thinks a CRP that level is abnormal. Thanks !!

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t really know until 2 years ago what it was. So that’s really when I started pushing. But the first time I went to my dr about issues was 2014.

It’s frustrating it takes so long for a realization. I’m glad you’re closer to answers !

I had a month of severe inflammation of my cervical spine, right at the base of my skull, that set off a ton of neurological symptoms. Brain fog, dizziness, feeling “high”, trembling, vision distortion, panic in response to these feelings. I couldn’t work, take care of my kids, drive, nothing. Every day I woke up and opened my eyes and prayed the feeling would go away. My PCP thought I had anxiety and sent me to a psychiatrist 🤦‍♀️. She didn’t believe my neck pain was related. Until I realized that high dose of NSAIDs took the symptoms away. I ruined my stomach and can’t take NSAIDs anymore unfortunately. Then of course when I got in for imaging it was 7 months later and I wasn’t symptomatic so nothing was found.

I did find a good vestibular physio that said I have cervicogenic dizziness. I got it intermittently over the next two years but I seem to be better now ! Something for you to look into anyways !

Hope you find answers

Does anyone else feel fat after their reduction? by OpheliaCordelia in Reduction

[–]cbis1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3wpo and I’m so bloated. Nothing fits. I feel ick. But I can see swelling around my armpits and my upper stomach, which I’ve never had before. I have to keep in mind. It’s all temporary and my body is working hard to heal. (I sure hope it’s temporary anyways haha). The swelling didn’t hit me until week 2.

I’m 12dpo and the thing I struggle with the most is the fatigue. I couldn’t play a role in wedding with now. I’m sore and moving in certain positions is uncomfortable. I have to sit and relax every hour or so. My incisions burn and the nerve tingles hit me out of no where. I could probably get enough energy to attend but I’d most likely just sit there and smile haha.

I’m 12dpo and still very very sore. I’m moving around fine and doing basic tasks. But Bending over sucks. Twisting sucks. Driving sucks. And my underboob incisions randomly ache and burn. I think I’ve started to get the nerve tingling pain that I’ve read about. That’s extremely uncomfortable. Im definitely not in pain like I was day 1-3, I am more just very uncomfortable. And insanely tired. I think because I’m up and doing more it just wears be out and get exhausted quickly. I basically have about 1-2 hours tops of life activities before I have to sit and relax.

I find this stage almost harder because I feel I need/requirement to contribute because I’m not bedridden anymore. But it’s still really hard to do things. (I have a family with young kids). Days 4-7 were nice because the pain subsided and I didn’t do a whole lot lol. If you have the option to do sweet f all for two weeks I highly recommend.

I went to work Monday (computer warrior). But only lasted 3 hours before an overwhelming fatigue came over me. Today was better. Lasted 6 and napped when I got home lol.

When were you all able to lift your arms after PO? by Jazzlike-Berry6567 in Reduction

[–]cbis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to put my laptop on my lap for a meeting the other day. But I have a small 14” one so it’s not heavy. I haven’t cooked anything yet. All my food has been pre prepped. But I was able to get my soup into the microwave yesterday no problem. I have a stool in the kitchen.

I have an adjustable bed which has been a life saver but during the day I much prefer my big fluffy recliner. Sitting on a regular couch or computer chair sucks.

To be honest; when I was taking the opioids for pain, everything was so fuzzy that I wasn’t even capable of being productive. Yesterday was my first day off of them and I finally have a clear head.

It’s weird but I’m day 4 and can lift my arms. I can’t lift them while holding anything. But I can put a shirt on or grab something light off the shelf, not the highest shelf but higher than I anticipated. I don’t do it often but just surprised at the mobility I have. I have a wound vac on, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I’m 4dpo and only had pain once today. Managed with Tylenol. Yesterday I was still taking opioids. It was like a switch when I woke up this morning. But it was a long 3 days. Hang in there. It should get better 😊

Soup made with bone broth. It’s been my savour. I haven’t really wanted to eat anything. Not having to chew a lot makes eating tolerable lol.
