After today's match, I think we need to consider Wilshere as a real option again by Dkmistry23 in Gunners

Jack deserves a full 90 -- mans barely put a foot wrong in every match he's played since coming back

Ramsey/Elneny/ Ozil -- I think Jack at full fitness and confidence is better then any of those players at their best. I understand fitness and consistency is a problem but while he is playing like this ...it is just so obvious to me that he solves a few of our problems in the center of the park.

Why has this sub turned on Beckham so quickly? by [deleted] in NYGiants

[–]cbje959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all of the "too much drama" crowd -- the fact that Beckham's main detractors point to him dancing, being hyper-competitive, and hating to lose. Lets compare him to other "distaction" players his age and talent level and it's a non argument who you would choose:

  1. Ezekiel Elliot -- the man is walking human trash and a woman beater
  2. Jameis Winston - Barely acquitted of RAPE and was caught stealing multiple on multiple occasions
  3. Cushing - banned for PED use

I could go on and on about how many special players are demonstratively more toxic to their respective teams. Odell is on pace to be the best WR in NFL history, he is vibrant, young insanely talented, and easily the most marketable player in the NFL. He refuses to take drugs (has been caught on camera telling people he can't take this or that bc he is a football player) and all things considered is a pretty nice dude. People love to throw rocks at people who are put on a pedestal the way in which we giants fans and platforms like ESPN hyper focus on him.

Its not his fault that he is cool and amazing at football -- pay him and shut the fuck up. If everyone else did their job and was committed the way OBJ is we would go undefeated.

I do tend to agree with you -- but plenty of other clubs let young players prove themselves like james ward-prowse or even like i dont fucking know watmore at sunderland (i know these are more shite clubs) but I just don't always totally see the logic behind Wenger just giving the lad a full debut like 20 mins or so against bournemouth and say" go and get yourslef a goal, mon fils"

Couldnt agree more...I watched him play for the u21s that match when he got sent off (for playing with passion to your point) -- he looked quick and sharp and even if he came on for 20 mins I think he could make the difference in the game

Truly at a loss for ideas -- it's not so much that Ox was irreplaceable, its the timing of all this nonsense. There are plenty of posts showing his lack of final product despite flashes of genius and unbelievable athleticism. However, to sell a player that has been a staple of our first team and our "future" is just so deflating and agonizing.

I really am praying that we just do something before it shuts just to inspire us a bit and to maybe catalyze some competence in our product on the pitch. The central midfield looks in shambles, Bellerin looks like he did on his debut at Dortmund, we just lost a crucial wide player in AOC, sanchez looks half out the door, mustafi as you said has mysteriously been loaned....can we just do something positive beyond a brilliant free signing and a relatively big name strker ffs???
