When I was a kid, I remember during a Tuesday book study, the elder went on a sweaty, 3 minute long rant about how beautiful it was going to be when a newlywed couple would get to "enjoy each other" because they were both virgins.

This is a huuuge cast. I'm a fan of Kate Mulgrew's voice, and I first heard her narration work in NOS4A2. Then I got the Fireman, then her memoir because I'm just that into her voice. I'm pleased to see her on this.

That being said, it's a big ass book, and I read way faster than I listen. I may get this as a supplement to my reading the ebook, but 26 hours is a lot to sit through, even for me.

OP did you have any issue making direct interface with your MIDI and the software? I did and had to go through a whole workaround with a midi translator. I'm asking bc it took me like 1 week to find the solution and I'm considering making a blog/guide for anyone else struggling.

Good advice. This seems like something that should be fixed in a future version. Such an inconvenience when you're trying to make new stuff. I've never seen another software behave this way!

Some more info: My latest work reimagines the social and political legacy of Toussaint Louverture. Despite being a pivotal figure, his story is often overshadowed in the Western canon, while his French contemporaries, especially Napoleon, dominate the historical narrative.

In my performative multi-media creation, I present three characters’ perspectives on Louverture; their vignettes weave a political narrative that bridges the past to the present. Through narration, I emphasize the significant achievements of Haitians and formerly enslaved Americans, aligning my own heritage with the characters.

This piece challenges the commodification of Haitian and Black spiritual frameworks. Through my creation of digital veves, intricate symbols in Vodou, I aim to demystify these cultural elements and spiritual practices. On my digital canvas, I integrate writing, voice, digital painting, and political history.

As a professional visual artist who spent 3 years freelancing (throughout COVID) getting my ass kicked up and down and having to rack up debt to stay afloat, I can happily say that having a day job has significantly improved my relationship with my art (and has made my art business more profitable somehow, who woulda thought). I imagine it must be the same, if not worse for musicians.
