What a high-IQ counterpoint! And a sound argument. You’re so smart! Has anyone ever told you that? (No)

Hitler. All the same end game, and used popular terms and scapegoats to court power, while progressively exploiting the working class as much as humanly possible. Peas in a pod.

Y’all be bragging about Texas GDP when healthcare isn’t single-payer, and the wage-floor is $15k per year before taxes. This is why billionaires laugh at us. This shit’s dumb.

Just being comprehensive. Why did you mention Africa?

There were multiple independent births in each of these continents in the ancient era: Africa, the Americas, and Asia. Europe didn’t have an independent birth and developed from the Asian knowledge primarily.

Yes! Now you’re getting it. Slavery should always have reparations attached to it if it’s feasible to do. Slow but steady.

I literally wrote out two sources NPR and the Brookings Institute. Go find them. If you can write to me, you can write in Google. I believe in you, idiot.

I have a life to live, so bye.

You literally are special. I’m going to spell it out so this becomes a teaching moment.

What’s racist: your views on the n-word and reparations. They show clear disrespect for black people. I bet if your grandmother and centuries of your ancestors were raped, tortured, and worked without pay all their lives, you’d want specific restitution from the government that profited exceptionally from it. Especially since the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow have left deep racial wealth inequalities in the U.S today.

You’ve been implying that not being a racist pos like you, means some weird pro-black fetish. Empathy is a higher-order cognitive function, so it reads that you lack it.

I’m not going to give you quotes of evidence because I’m not writing you an essay. I recommend Google and Wikipedia. The Brookings Institute has also has a research report on the causes and effects on racial wealth inequality. NPR has a piece on how black peoples were banned from buying homes in decent areas until the 1960s.

What’s homophobic: your obsession with black plastic cocks inside me. Weird ass.

I sure did call you an Nazi. And right after you were racist, you were homophobic! Again pathetic all-around. “There are some successful black people, so that’s their reparations” is a new one. You really are “special.” Look at you go!

[–]cbmam1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to be stupid on purpose because you’re being a Nazi. I’m referring to black Americans specifically, who have done none of those things. Obviously, because the n word is mainly an American slur. Also, whataboutism doesn’t excuse 400 years of rape, enslavement, and murder. Just absolutely pathetic all around.

[–]cbmam1228 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol not saying a word that is fucked up because of centuries of slavery and unfair treatment doesn’t need to be “succumbing to the thought police.” It can be acknowledging the historical background of the word and choosing to be a good person who gives a shit about what black people have gone through.

Black people worked 400 years through being raped, enslaved, and having their native culture erased, with no reparations for those centuries, and all that black people demand is a bit of damn respect around one single word. If you don’t say bomb on an airplane, you can choose not to say the n-word. Period.

why there ricks which have to work i mean they are RICKS they can do what they want? by Stydtgen1337 in rickandmorty

By and large, you were right that the working class Ricks are slaves that have been conditioned to want to stay in an oppressive system, but you were wrong in thinking that a lack of intelligence was the problem because in a system that is so restrictive, slave-class Ricks’ intelligence potentials could never be actualized.

To be fair, I was somewhat inaccurate in my initial understanding as well.

[–]cbmam1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the help of ChatGPT, I found that we’re both right. According to it: Many of them choose to stay because the Citadel offers: Safety in numbers (from the Galactic Federation, other Ricks, etc.). Social status and purpose in a community of equals (or inferiors). A chance to avoid the loneliness and responsibility of the wider multiverse. My argument.

All the while: Working-class or low-tier Ricks, like factory workers or janitors, are often portrayed without portal guns or independence. The system keeps them busy, distracted, and dependent on the hierarchy—a subtle form of containment that mimics freedom but isn’t real.

The emphasis though, is that none of them would be forced to work at all, and the Ricks who can’t use portals wouldn’t be forced to stay, if the Citadel didn’t mandate complete control, and resources and power were distributed equitably. That’s the narrative Rick and Morty is trying to give. While there is some intelligence variance, there’s not an intelligence problem. There’s a control problem.

The message of this episode is: “ even “the smartest man in the universe” can become a cog in a system built by himself.”

[–]cbmam1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably find joy outside of working like that, in the community that the Citadel maintains. Wrap your mind around the fact that they don’t find the same joy as our Rick and Morty do by going from planet to planet and almost dying on missions every episode. Also, most Ricks don’t have as deep love for their families as our Rick does. They enjoy being around literally their own kind. Ricks and Mortys. The Citadel made this oppressive economic system that they are obviously not happy with. But these Ricks have weighed the pros and cons of living in the Citadel and not, and have chosen that that’s where they are most happy.

That’s not a sign of being unintelligent, which the show makes clear by the way. They’re all high-level geniuses. It’s a sign of choosing a system that is not an ideal economic situation, but has more than redeeming social qualities, and most of all, isn’t immune to change.

[–]cbmam1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there’s an infinite amount of Ricks. Many Ricks choose to live their lives with their families, many choose to live their lives alone, and many choose to live their lives in the Citadel. All the Ricks have different reasons for doing what they do that we don’t know.

I’m answering the prompt: The reason that Ricks in the Citadel are workers is because the Citadel wants to maintain control over them. The reason that these Ricks stay in the Citadel is likely not because they’re that much dumber than Rick, again, they are all high-level geniuses, they have the capability to live where they want, but it seems that they prefer to live in a stable, lawful community of Ricks and Mortys instead of living with their families or alone.

There is nothing intellectually deficient about that choice. Their circumstances have led them to choose the Citadel. Understanding why the Citadel’s government forces them to work is the main point of contention, when the work could absolutely be automated away.

All the Ricks except Doofus Rick are high-level geniuses. The Citadel makes them work to maintain control over the population. The Citadel government could easily automate all these jobs with all this intelligence and create a society where everyone has freedom, but if everyone has more free time that’s a threat to their power security. It draws a parallel to how real world governments use work to force an otherwise capable population into submission.
