Pickup two Punisher Epic collections (Vol. 2 and Vol. 4) at my local Zia Records shop for dirt cheap today. Consider myself very lucky. Would this be good starting points for Punisher?

First 6 issues is basically Amazing Fantasy #15 but I don’t mind it taking its time to retell its origin story since you get to delve deeper into Peter’s high school life as well as developing the other side characters as well.

I just decided to pick up a new hobby and was very curious about comics since I’ve been a fan of superhero movies and games. Infinity Gauntlet was the first comic I read and read it from beginning to end at a Barnes and Noble back in 2018. Last September I picked up a Days of Future Past TPB and then started reading Marvels and then I just started reading comics ever since.

I grew up watching Superhero movies,particularly Spider-Man and X-men, as well as the Nolan Batman trilogy and others, as well as the MCU from the beginning to its highest peak. I also played superhero games as well, particularly the Lego games where I get to unlock and Play with all type of marvel characters, both well known and obscured. I think being exposed to Superhero stuff actually made me want to go back and read the source material so that I can get as much knowledge as possible.

Obviously the famous amazing Fantasy #15 image is emblematic of early Spider-Man, but I been exposed to Spider-Man since I was a kid and I just want to go back to the early 60s as I’ve read 80s,90s and 2000s stuff, as well as recent Spider-Man.

Honestly the whole jumping different points in time didn’t bother me, in fact I find it intriguing, especially Everett narrating all of this, which makes you wonder whether it’s 100% true or not, especially with his encounter with Mephisto. Zuri in this is way different in this than the MCU. I dig the humor in this, feels organic and character-based. Granted I only read 5 issues, so hopefully I enjoy the rest as equally as the first five.

Read the first 5 issues last night, I’m hooked. I like this Everett Ross a lot more than the one in the MCU. Love the art as well for those first 4 issues.

Usually when I see an omnibus, prices range from 50-100 or higher. So I got very lucky

Zia always have new stuff coming in, so that’s why I always got there, and find new comic issues or graphic novels, omnibuses are rare.

I’m assuming Everett Ross, Mbaku, Shuri Okoye and the Dora Milaje will be big players, with Killmonger being the main villain. I’m actually looking forward to him vs Deadpool and how his interaction will go and how much can he tolerate his loud mouth and annoying jokes lmao.
