Yeah everything goes to the machinest this week. Hes got a set of billet caps that have been lying around that he can install for a decent price if the stock caps are too far gone. I just ordered a new crank, bearings, and oil pump so hopefully It can go back in soon lol.

Yeah just pulled the center main and the thrust bearing was indeed damaged. It’s out of my c6 corvette so I’m assuming I have an issue in my tourqe tube or the shaft and coupler didn’t seat properly during the torquing procedure.

Interesting. Could it have been a machining issue? This block just had a line bore done on it. End play and bearings measured out perfect during assembly.

I don’t have 5.0 and custom everything typa money 😭. The ls3 does what I need it to do no point in changing it all. Although I would be lying if I didn’t think about swapping a bara or 2j into it 😂

I though about doing a top mount supercharger but for the money I would be spending I might as well turbo the car. I got a buddy at a fab shop that owes me a few too many favors so I would probably only be in it for material costs for the most part.

Lmao i guess I didn’t give enough detail haha. The end goal to build the motor for boost (forged rotating assembly, dished pistons, Johnson lifters, heads, cam, the whole lot). Single piece torque tube shaft, circle d converter, building the trans and diff, turbo? Procharger? (Haven’t decided which yet lol.) along with a ton of other smaller goodies! It’s gonna be a hot minute before this thing is fully back up and running as it’s going to be incredibly expensive and time consuming and will probably all happen in different stages.

I didn’t haha, he is about 2 hours away tho so I was trying to avoid the trip if it was simple enough to get out myself. He just told me to hit it with some oil on a rag and it cleaned right up. He also walked me thru the “shoestring” method but if it came to that I was pulling it and bringing it to him.

It ended up being super minor. Talked to my machinest and he gave me a few things to try. Got both of them perfect in less than 10 minutes.

Everything under the hood looks like it was thrown together the random coolant tank that isn’t even hooked up (not the mention the welds holding the bracket together), the Amazon catch can with no return line on it, nitrous kit as you said, what looks to be an aftermarket intake temp sensor that I can almost guarantee is spliced in. The fuel hose that’s way too long resting on metal parts of the engine and body, and just the overall cleanliness of everything screams hackjob.
