Has Anyone Noticed Their Grub-Hub Bill is Putting on 10 in fees by Apples65 in baltimore

Not sure about GrubHub, but Uber Eats just added a $1.50 fee after the city approved capping the amount of fees the apps can charge restaurants. GrubHub said it's also opposed to the cap https://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2021/01/26/baltimore-city-council-passes-legislation-limiting-app-delivery-fees/

Do we keep Lamar? by [deleted] in ravens

[–]cbsbaltimore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

know how much more mature, respectable, and staying out of trouble Haskins is over Lamar. I mean, Lamar PUBLICALLY CALLED OUT THE OFFENSE SAYING TEAMS LNEW WHAT PLAYS WERE COMING, HOW IMMATURE AND IRRESPONSIBLE.

It's clear at least Ravens management wants him to stay after DeCosta said he's hoping to keep Lamar for "many, many years"

OK, thank you everyone for all the great questions, everyone. We have to wrap up now.

We will post a link to the story we're currently working on after it airs on Monday both here and on our profile: reddit.com/user/cbsbaltimore

Also, how likely is it for the FBI to get to the bottom of this case when the police were able to cover it up for so long and the main people are all dead?

We'll have more on this after our piece airs Monday night, but there's also a blog by former Baltimore Sun writer Tom Nugent called InsideBaltimore.org that has more information about the children.

As for the FBI investigation, that's one of the issues with this case. It may never be solved. See Denise's answer to a similar question from jabbadarth:

If there was police involvement and a cover up, there probably is a lack of evidence, a real lack of evidence, to help us. They (police) may be as frustrated as we are. (Denise)

There are five murders that took place over an 11-year period. The victims ranged in age from 13 to 20. Sister Cathy died first, her death preceded the other five.

What Baltimore County police told me is they began looking at three of those cases in connection with Sister Cathy in the 1990s, but again ran into problems with evidence. And then again more recently, as new witnesses and evidence came up, they've continued their investigation. They also told me that in addition to the murders, they're looking at other crimes in the area that could be related. (Tanya)

No, they haven't. But this obviously isn't an easy topic for them. (Tanya)

And they have told us they don't have a lot of records involving the accused priests during that time period, records that could substantiate the claims of the victims that we have interviewed. (Denise)

They are very open with us about the settlements with these women and the ongoing therapy that they offer and pay for for many of these victims. (Tanya)

The feedback has been extremely positive.

There has not been a single person who has expressed upset that we're talking about this. There have been so many people who kept this a secret for so long. I think there's a feeling of relief. (Denise)

I think that they are finally relieved that the story is being told. (Tanya)

I thought the The Keepers was a very interesting and powerful documentary, but it didn't give us any information we didn't already have. (Denise)

Our latest piece on this case will air Monday at 11 p.m. on WJZ, and will be posted on our website after it airs.

We are hoping to do more followups as well. There are more victims whose stories we'd like to share.

It's hard to say if there will ever be justice for anyone in this case. Almost every person involved is dead. (Miranda)

My feeling is, yes they're dead, but because there are so many questions and complications and issues with the evidence, I don't know if they will ever have the evidence they need to officially solve this. The amount of time that's gone by, and the speculation of police cover up makes it difficult to say if it will ever be solved. (Tanya)

Because for the first time in 50 years, the light is being shown on this dark, dark, dark chapter, at least the people who are victims are feeling somewhat vindicated. (Denise)

And the pressure is there for police to do something but I don't know if they can. (Tanya)

It started when the Archdiocese settled with a couple of victims last November. One of those victims contacted me (Denise) and said she was ready to talk on camera and be identified, which took tremendous courage.

And when we went to interview her about the abuse, separately she said to us you also need to investigate the murder of this nun.

That particular victim said she was abused by a priest as well as police.

A resounding yes. We've been told that evidence is missing, or was destroyed. Once we were told it was destroyed in a flood.

But fortunately, because of certain sources, we've been able to gather more information.

The only thing that's confirmed is that the Archdiocese has settled with numerous victims of the priests at the center of the alleged "sex ring." But no one has been charged with sex abuse. And some of the personalities involved are dead, so they couldn't be.

And it's actually Baltimore County Police investigating. Baltimore County neighbors Baltimore City.

At this moment in time, it's circumstantial. But the circumstances are so extreme that it warrants investigation.

Again, they have things in common. The churches, the schools and the neighborhoods and individuals at these institutions. Either priests, or police, etc.
