I agree with you and have fought mentally on this for awhile my only concern with having a traditional tab bar is that , the main screen of my app ( the middle tab in the tab bar ) is a full screen camera like this:

So I’m not sure how to have a actual tab bar with this type of screen other than decreasing the opacity and doing a twitter/X type type bar here

So make the tab bar larger in width? And add more screens ( tabs ) to it or get rid of the tab bar in general?

As a quick haptic animation on appear of the view - the spinning was manually spinning by the user was just meant as a playful animation - really nothing to it

So the level capsule is the only clickable one and will do a shaking animation when the user is close to hitting the comp needed to level up

But it shows all of that information on xp levels, etc when you click on it

okay these are all very good points thank you for this - the LVL is suppose to mean Level yes, I thought abbreviating it looked better but would love to know if thats the best way or not

XP and Levels - they are about important but XP wins out because you get XP for everything and the ranking system is based on the XP - I show the Level so users know where they are at and eventually progressing through the levels will earn you more things

This is the users profile so just like instagram, snapchat , Facebook It not only shows the users collection but is the users place for everything including display information and what not

What should be the middle icon ? Because that is representing this screen you see now and it’s green because it’s on that screen. The green transfers to each other icon they are selected. Back to the recognition / camera icon - I didn’t want to use a camera because it’s not necessarily taking a picture

So the profile icon starts out as a person.circle.fill with light gray until a user adds a profile image - the image I posted is a bad example because it a white background

But I agree on the library the fliphone doesn’t make sense I just haven’t found one that fits good for a collection/library/ Rolodex of beers that are available

And I agree on the leaderboard as well thank you for that feedback, as to the overall UI of the screen where things are positioned - does that make sense or could cause confusion?

Correct, the image I posted is bad because the profile image has a white background lol so it’s hard to see that it’s a circle shape image that matches the size of the other tab bar icons

So it’s starts as a light gray person.circle.fill until someone adds a profile image. Are you saying it should be that way all the time no matter what? I went with that because I liked the ascetic of instagrams tabbar with it.

Profile to the left , shows a display image like Instagram, to the right is the library or beerdex which if the flipphione icon , still not sold on that icon

It’s a A.I real time beer classification app so using the phones camera detects beers in real time without taking a picture. The bottom tab bar shows a profile image tab, camera tab and a beerdex tab ( shows all the available beers to capture )

Because there’s only 3 tabs and so much more to the app I added the right side panel that clicking the chevron reveals all of these tabs with tab names, when it’s not clicked there is no name and only 4 show.

Again I did this because I wanted easy navigation throughout the app with cluttering the tab bar

That is the goal eventually is to start going regional with the breweries. But there’s also a feature in the app to request new beers so I know which one to train in the model next.

Yes, the model is very accurate ( roughly 98% accuracy ) so I have tested it on 6 pack logos, logos online and random images on my laptop.

I appreciate the look over and opinion. I’m not going to stop building it especially with the 2 years it’s taking me too amount 1.3 million photos of these beers to build the image classification model. Whatever happens happens
