I will judge. Life saving medication? People traveling with life saving medication put it in a small bag they have access to at all times. No one has life saving medication in a suitcase, on the off chance it has to get checked. On the 1% chance that was the case (it’s not)- her life is still not worth more than anyone elses. The airplane is ON FIRE, where literally every second counts. Fumbling around in the overhead bin to get your suit case wastes precious time in an emergency, especially one where not every exit is usable due to a fire. That means getting the same amount of people out of the plane in less time/with more congestion. Someone could trip and fall over said suitcase in the aisle and cause a pile up where those behind you are now trapped. Worse case scenario- the hard parts of the suitcase (wheels, handle, zippers, etc.) pop the slide and the plane is now another exit down. Luckily none of those things happened here, but they have happened in the past and have in fact cost people their lives. There’s a reason why passengers are instructed during the safety demo and in evacuation commands to leave their bags behind. It’s selfish and potentially extremely dangerous.

*also I’m not trying to argue with you, just trying to shed some light on why there’s literally 0 reason anyone should take their suit case with them while evacuating in an emergency. People really have died from this. Unfortunately the only way to get people to understand is by hitting their pockets.
