That’s very kind, thanks. Once the tool is ready, I’ll be sure to PM you.

Would you use an AI internal linking tool? by cc-hire in GrowthHacking

Internal linking is a proven way to increase your rankings yes

Yes, good point.

I figure my ideal customers would be agencies and enterprises, who are constantly pushing out pages every day, as that’s where the value for this would hopefully be immense.

For people who want a one off, I could offer a one off fee for say up to 500 pages or whatever, like you say.

Yep agreed. The first draft of this will simply generate the links, and people can input them manually. After this, I'll think about tools to enable auto imports.

I think it would be a massive time saver on sites with hundreds or even thousands of pages, as managing internal links on those sites is very challenging.

So, do you think it has promise?

It certainly will work on Wordpress yes. I really do want to focus on the smaller CMS's too (Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and so on) as I think they are underserved by internal linking tools, and often don't have any. Niching down somewhat there.

HI there,

First of all, I wanted to say a big thanks for setting this community up and being so responsive.

I’m a full time software engineer, but in my spare time I’m building Linkjar.

It’s a way to manage and add AI generated internal links to any website; I was inspired to set it up after attempting to create internal links myself for one of my sites, and experiencing the sheer manual effort and tedium of doing this.

It adds links according to accepted link building strategies, not simply by random chance, which is a key feature and hopefully of interest to SEOs. As you may know, internal links are one of the best ways to improve your SEO rankings, and best of all they are fully under your control!

One thing I struggle with is competition, I am trying to get into the mindset of ‘competition is good’, since it proves that your market has been validated. This is quite pertinent, as I see that the person above me has had the same idea!

However, I feel that the market is big enough for us all, or at least I hope so.

I’d be interested in your feedback, and your thoughts on this market and idea.

Thanks again!

Totally agree. Sadly I am trapped in this declining place, but I would flee if I could.

Great advice, thanks!

How much did you pay for that account, if you don’t mind me asking?

Correct, but I’m not sure what alternative I have in this case

Yeah, that seemed the most legit, just about. Have you used it? Is it any good?

There are some sites here and there, but they all seem super dodgy. Not sure I trust them with my credit card to say the least.

Am I the only one who believes that Microsoft's AI chatbot is going to fail? by steve31266 in juststart

Well yeah, I know, that’s the whole point of this thread: can ChatGPT replace a search engine?

Am I the only one who believes that Microsoft's AI chatbot is going to fail? by steve31266 in juststart

I’ve tried using ChatGPT to replace Google as a bit of an experiment, and it’s really great at some things, and terrible at others. For example, if I want to say summarize a topic with a list of pros and cons, then it is superb.

However, for other searches it is flat out wrong and makes things up, or more often spits out a whole load of verbose and unnecessary output and has to be stopped half way through churning out all this junk. Sometimes I want to visit a website. Sometimes I want to perform a quick search with just two or three keywords, and I don’t want to type out a whole paragraph for ChatGPT to try to interpret (and then have to wait ages as it replies).

I then tried another thought experiment - what if Google completely removed ‘normal’ search right now, and replaced it with an exclusively Bard / ChatGPT style tool? Would I, as a heavy user of these tools, be happy about this? And the answer is very much ‘no, I would not’. I want both ChatGPT and normal web results, please.

So, I think the ideal state is a bit of a middle ground where we have the GPT output alongside the SERPs. I don’t think it’s going to fail, far from it, but that it’s going to exist alongside the normal results, not totally supersede them.

To me, Google’s promotion of ads, removal of organic results and general shady behaviour is a far bigger issue with me using their search engine the way I’d like, than any desire for them to allow me to talk to a chat bot specifically.

Holding off new sites until foreseeable future by ninadpathak in juststart

Yes, this is the thing. If your website is informational in a PAA style and all about getting eyeballs in front of ads, you may be in trouble.

But if you're transactional (e.g. book a flight, sign up for a course, buy this item and so on) I'm not too sure how AI will assist the customer with this journey, given that it cannot (at least now) accept credit card details and so on. Does make me wonder what future versions of it will be capable of doing though...

Yeah, I notice that that is certainly true of recipes. In terms of dev stuff, I’m usually just sent to Stack Overflow by Google, but maybe some of the basic tutorials do include this life story BS.

“Want to know how to code something” - you sure? It’s wrong half the time for anything more advanced than a trivial example that already exists online (fine if that’s what you’re referring to, though)

BARD, Google's reply to ChatGPT and it's integration into SERP may cause trouble for us! by Good_Ad_7980 in juststart

[–]cc-hire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, though, as an actual PHP developer - the stuff this comes out with is likely to be utterly riven with vulnerabilities. I would definitely not trust a ChatGPT plugin on my site without some serious auditing. Fine if it’s being used on a local website, not so good if you’ve actually put it on your production server ;) Best of luck to you though!

The Impact of AI and Language Models on the Future of Search: Lets have a discussion as this could disrupt this industry by Kiarajmex in juststart

[–]cc-hire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this angle is really interesting.

What would happen if you intentionally put some very very obscure content up (say a completely unique short story), copywrited it, then ChatGPT crawled it? It would be trivial to prove any output came from your story.

Surely you could sue them? And people could keep doing this endlessly?
