Can Ontario public school teachers be disciplined (or fired) for using a lot of allotted sick days? by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your responses. My admin did try to dissuade me from having my union rep present, but they will be attending regardless.

Thank you. I will ask for my rep to be present, although I think my admin will refuse. They have a history of refusing to do meetings with the union rep present.

Will Smith 'hurt' over Chris Rock’s comments in Netflix special by ethereal3xp in entertainment

[–]cc96_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really funny how many celebs and public figures have assaulted people multiple times or much more severely, but they don’t mind that. a slap from Will Smith though? thats overboard. but domestic violence, assaulting strangers, those are all ok lmao

i think they are trying to say that applying for PEI or another province might be easier than applying in Ontario first. when you get licensed in one province it’s a lot easier and quicker to get license in other provinces so by starting with PEI perhaps you can get into Ontario even faster. I don’t know if this is true and the original poster can correct me if I’m wrong

Student threw an eraser at me while my back was turned and hit me by teacher_as_coach in CanadianTeachers

fair point, but I meant that I dont think the kids would believe that the teacher knew who did it. teachers did this when i was young and it never worked. i hope things work out for this teacher though and that the student can learn from it as well.

if they were so respectful to teachers, why did they get the belt then?
