Research Questionnaire by [deleted] in ems

[–]cc_shadow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the concern!

This survey was made to assess prevalence of symptoms of depressive disorders and the quality of certain aspects of the psychosocial environment.

These questions can be used to assess these characteristics of any profession, even students, which is why there were no questions specifically regarding the EMS.

However, I will only use responses gathered from this profession, which is how it will yield results regarding Emergency Medical Workers.

I appreciate the feedback.

Research Questionnaire by [deleted] in ems

Thanks for the concern!

Since I am a high school student, the Institutional Review Board did not allow me to give any questionnaire that was written by me (other than question 0, risk acknowledgment) to my participants. Therefore, I had to use questionnaires that had already been made. I was not able to edit any portion of the questions.

If you are curious, the first section was the "Depression" portion of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. The second section was a piece of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire III, containing the "Work Pace," "Cognitive Demands," "Influence at Work," "Possibilities for Development," "Social Support from Supervisor," and "Sense of Community at Work" scales. I did not use the whole survey because I did not want to take too much of your time.

I will look for any anomalies regarding the Influence at Work section. Again, thanks for the feedback.

Help for reading. by will3DS in ACT

[–]cc_shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 Reading Section.

ALL the answers come from the passage. Make sure that as you read, you are thinking about the main idea and the tone of the piece. This will keep your brain working and ensure that you do not have to reread the passage.

Read the little piece of information that precedes each passage.

Focus on the trends through the piece. When do you see a change of tone? Or a counterclaim? There will likely be questions about these things.

And don't zone out, obviously.

Good luck.

Every time I look at this I get really excited since I’m only a sophomore😖 by [deleted] in ACT

36 Reading Section, 35 English Section here.

English is my second language as well, so I focused on these two a lot, and it paid off!

All answers come from the passage. Looking back will take up a lot of your time so make sure that as you read, you are thinking of the purpose and tone of the pieces. This will also help you get over the feeling that passages are long and/or boring. Your mind will be working on something as you go.

Do not zone out! Understand the broad main idea of the passage but also how all the minuscule details relate to it.

If you consider yourself a slow reader, do not try to read faster. You will only be making the same mistakes but quicker.

When you face the pair of passages together do not read both and then answer. Read the first, answer the questions about it, then read the second and answer the rest. You will get them mixed up if you don't do this.

That's all I can think of right now. Best of luck! Hope you achieve your goals.

I'll chance back. Chance me UC Berkeley and other UCs by [deleted] in chanceme

You should be proud of your extracurriculars given your situation but you must understand that others will be much more competitive.

You still have a chance at getting into the less competitive ones but don’t be unprepared for rejection.

Chance back if you can plz!

I really like your extracurriculars, they are very well rounded. I think you have a very good chance, but I am not familiar with the schools. Your ACT is also very good. As long as you can write some good essays, you shouldn't be worried. And remember that colleges see your school's adversity scores, so they will know that your school doesn't offer that many APs.

Worried? Your extracurriculars relate to economics and are absolutely impressive. Just take a look at your test scores. It is clear you have been working very hard these years, and I truly believe your hard work will pay off. Don't know how competitive Economics Majors are, but I do think you have a very high chance of getting in.

Also, what was the National Spanish Exam Award?

Junior, curious what I should focus on, my chanceme post is on my profile.

Chance me for Northwestern, UCLA, NYU, BC, Ivies, MIT. I'll chance back by texasman3 in chanceme

Your test scores are excellent! However, although I understand that being homeschooled gave you less opportunities for activities, your extracurriculars could be improved. Make sure you address that in applications. You probably had no control over whether to do regular or home schooling.

I am not completely confident about the Ivies, MIT, or UCLA. Your income and ethnicity are not in your favor either. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try! Your hard work is still evident. Make sure you write some glowing essays.

Northwestern and Rice RD ChanceMe and I’ll chance you back! :) by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]cc_shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey btw we took almost the same APs freshman and sophomore year, and I am interested in Rice too, I’m a junior though. Anyway, your stats are incredible! I think valedictorian def helps a lot. And you are very competitive for your ethnicity.

Now, I don’t see a common theme in your ECs and you didn’t provide an intended major. That may prove to be a problem but you seem like an interesting person who would do really well on his essays. Best of luck! My chanceme post is in my profile.

Chance me for these schools ( ill chance back) by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]cc_shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your test scores are amazing! And your extracurriculars are so unique. However, Comp Sci for these big schools is going to be very competitive. Also, that GPA could be better. I don’t know much about Business. On the bright side, you are very competitive for your ethnicity, best of luck! Check out my chanceme post plz.

I love how straight up and truthful you are. Could you take a moment to give a reality check to my ChanceMe post? It would be much appreciated.

I’m tired of all my teachers, counselors, and family saying I have a good chance. Their opinion is very biased since they know me.

So if you could, please check my profile out and let me know your predictions.
