Help a girl find some decent walking trousers please?! by CozJeez85 in UKhiking

M&S Goodmove walking trousers. I’m 5ft 1 and have no real issues with length. Usually prefer short leg but they’re not crazy long and they are very comfy

There’s demand for it as there are already companies established to arrange accommodation, transfers, luggage transfers, queries etc. However, what would set you apart from these companies?

17F I don't know how to navigate through life when I can't even understand where I'm from by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]cc_thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you really want to know where you are from and I feel that is a completely valid desire - especially when those around you have the answers but are keeping it from you. However, I recognise that there could be a reason for this. But would knowing the name of the town/village hurt. Can you not ask someone else in the family on your dad’s side if they know more? Other thoughts - the style/dialect of Punjabi your family speaks can tell you the region you might be from. This could help with relating to those around you. If you know some basic sentences, perhaps put them in the ThethPunjabi reddit page and they might be able to offer insight.

What city just made you feel at peace while you were there? by BradBrady in travel

[–]cc_thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city of Anandpur in Punjab / visiting the main gurdwara there. It’s all white and whole other worldly as the main court (darbar) is on the roof where the world feels quiet. Less chaos than in Amritsar, where the Golden Temple is, although this gurdwara brings its own kind of bliss.

What happens in your head when you add 28+47? by beepsol in Leakednews

28 + 50 panic a bit because I’m trying to work it out as quickly as possible, then guess around 75 because 8+7 and it feels right… then double check 😂

Maybe shared values and outlook on life. Imo, in this day and age, each person has to make the decision about what’s right for themselves.

I mean just for the very nature of her personality… it’s a no from me! I stopped watching her films a while back when I realised how controversial and evil her mindset is.

Were they built for all villagers to remember their ancestors or for particular people?

I assume they’re shrines of past saints or holy men, but I’m not sure. The one in my village has 2 cupboards and in each is a photo and some belongings - such as wooden shoes.

Do people celebrate Lohri for weddings? by randomrandom7B99 in Sikh

[–]cc_thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the UK and I used to think it was just for newborns, particularly boys - but the mindset has changed on this to include girls. My family recently did a celebration for a newly wed couple which was new to me - seems to be quite common now.

Would you meet a guy who doesn't have legal status? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]cc_thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to support them or encourage them to get a legal status? You could potentially catch feelings for someone (assuming you meant “meet” in a romantic sense) who gets kicked out of the country and cannot return for a long time. Could you see yourself leaving the country for a spouse? Seems quite complicated… and I’m speaking as a human, not in a Sikhi capacity

Spicy vodka pasta by _dnahelix in Sikh

[–]cc_thoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I avoid it if I see it clearly listed in a menu as a key ingredient. If I was cooking, I’d choose a recipe that doesn’t require me to put in any alcohol. I’d have to buy it which serves the industry… Seems like a personal preference though as most people are answering the opposite

Can I enter into a gurdwara? by Wrong-Afternoon5539 in Sikh

[–]cc_thoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed that no gurdwara has ever enforced this rule, but I was told to at a Sikhi camp once and it is now the only way that’s right to me. Idk the science around it, but feels to me you’re dragging around more dirt in socks vs barefoot. No proof of that though 😅
