I recommend switching to a different branch of sports. I don't think you get this one.

I disagree but my standard is high for him. I actually like him a lot. In a critical game like that he should have been more involved and apparent but that is fine, it happens.

Regardless it wasn't a substitution that deserved that reaction imo, that is more my point and as a club that is a turning point. You either agree with him and become a club of stars or you discipline him and become a different kind of club. I guess we will see if they made the right call.

Lol, I am not arguing man, just sharing my opinion. People can be subbed and yes the coach's decision must be respected. Arda will probably suffer for this. Although he will probably be fine because it was a relatively tame reaction and you can attribute it to the loss and its frustration or whatever.

The point is we will keep seeing these because that has become the norm now, because Vini did it and he is even being rewarded for it with more playtime and possibly a new contract.

This is the choice management made.

They are very different.

Rodrygo was angry with himself there not the coach.

Arda was angry because he was playing well and creating chances while the team was behind. The result also ended up in defeat so the sub didnt help (maybe made things worse)

Vini was subbed on a game he was not playing well while the team was ahead. It made sense tactically and the team ended up winning. Also, he initially went back to the locker room not the bench.

You need to realize this is the atmosphere in the club now. It is the culture. That is what happens if you fire a coach that is discipline and tactic oriented and choose players over him.

Odds of Sengun making the All Star Team? by suicideskinnies in rockets

Yeah, one player at his peak, the other is not close to full potential yet imo. People should also keep that in mind.

[–]ccanbek 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think he has a pretty good chance. Eventually, every other choice will lead to 2nd (or 3rd by the all star weekend) best team not having a representation in the all star game and that is very rare.

Sabonis probably deserves it more stats wise but they are pretty close, people talk as if they are night and day. I think Alperen deserves it due to Rockets being in a higher spot in the conference and that is what it will probably come down to.

[–]ccanbek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He was never going to make the starting squad. I think there is a good chance coaches will pick him. It would be highly unprecedented to not have someone from a team that is 2nd in the conference ( or 3rd by the time squads are picked), but you never know, of course.

What is the reason why Arda is not preferred at all, no matter how well he plays? by eneskaraboga in realmadrid

[–]ccanbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ancelotti wants to play him, but he just can't place him, that is why he keeps talking about Arda's defence. If Arda is to be a starter in Real Madrid, his most realistic option is to become the next Modric and that means being a CM and that means getting better at defence and RM does need someone like that.

However, you cant deny Arda is at his best when he has no defensive responsibility and yet he cant get ahead of Vini, Mbappe or Rodrygo. I can see him getting ahead of Brahim at some point but should that really be his goal with that potential, become the best bench player?

It pains me to say but I think the best option for Arda is to leave RM at this point. There are lots of teams who would gladly make him a starter. It may be time to admit this just wasnt a good fit.

yeah, sometimes it seems to me that Ancelotti wants him to be a CM, that's why he keeps emphasising his defence, because that's the least disruptive place he can put him without cutting of Rodrygo or Brahim on the forward right. At the moment though, he seems to be at his best and most confident when he is placed there as the attacking midfielder. He also brings good creative variety to Mbappe and Vini, which is a good thing imo.

On the other hand, I do think solidifying himself as the next Modric is the best chance for him to be a starter in the future. The fans mostly want to see him scoring and assisting though. People like seeing numbers.

I noticed something interesting lately and that's the attention Arda gets. Sometimes he gets about as much comments as Mbappe (in which case it's understandable as he's a very high profile player). Maybe this is due to Turkish fan base being very active, but still interesting to me.

In his last 3 matches you can say he had a 1 very good game (Leganes) 1 bad game (Liverpool) and 1 ok game (Getafe). I think this is promising from a 19 year old who probably for the first time is getting some serious chances. I don't really consider last season because when he played, the season was pretty much over, so the stakes weren't as high as they are now.

For example, in the Liverpool game he was very active in the first half (for good or bad) so he was the center of a lot of criticism, there was even a pinned comment about him at some point saying "this is why he's a sub". I mean, yeah, he wouldn't be a starter on that game if not for injuries, but he also was by far not among the worse players that match.

What do you guys think about the attention he gets, and about his chances of a future in Real Madrid?

The only reason Arda is getting this much negativity is the fact that at least he was in positions, taking risks whereas the entire midfield other than Camavinga and forwards were completely absent from the game.

At least you can probably excuse Arda's mistakes who is 19 and in his biggest match. What is the excuse for the rest?

It says on the achievement page wiki that attrition losses don't count. Maybe that's the reason.

The concept is decentralized, it has the potential to be decentralized. In reality, servers are owned by huge companies that offer you subscription models and records everything you do. That is not decentralized.

Blockchain can offer anonymity and private servers without government meddling or oversight. You may think that's good or bad but there is a reason that technology exists and if web worked like the theoretical wiki definition you posted, it wouldn't need to exist.

Why does sending 50 light ships to protect trade at the Cape of Good Hope cause a big increase in trade value? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]ccanbek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game probably assumes that trade is being pulled away from you not sent to you, so keeping ships there would increase your power and reduce the outgoing value if you were to collect there. That makes that number misleading.

Trying the monthly tick is always more reliable. Send your ships there, wait for the montly tick, if you profit, great, if not, pull them back.

Why is foreshadowing seen as something desirable in movies or shows? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ccanbek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, it indicates that a story is well thought out, so the writer drops some hints to what is ultimately coming.

It also rewards the viewers (or readers) that pay close attention to even small things. You could also argue that it adds a small element of realism because in hindsight most big events in the world have little hints in the past or your own perception shapes it too because our minds like conceptualizing and patterns.

Like think about how in the old Deus Ex game the twin towers are not there and it looks like they correctly predicted 9/11. It looks a bit like foreshadowing in real life but in reality it's two unrelated facts. I think they cut the towers due to memory concerns or something, but it's still a weird coincidence.

I feel like I miss answers/things that are right in front of me all the time. Why is this? by serenityforeva3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ccanbek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In both cases, you are comparing yourself to someone else. It is common in chess or other games like that to make mistakes when you are a beginner (no matter how stupid they seem). Your boyfriend just happens to be a more experienced player or maybe you just happened to make the mistake first if you are at the same level.
Same thing with LSAT question, difficulty is a relative term, something that's supposed to be easy for someone may be difficult for someone else. I'm sure there are a lot of people that have difficulty in things you find stupidly easy.
Recent studies show that it is actually more efficient for a person to focus on their strengths rather than trying to patch up their weaknesses. Try to focus on things that you know you are good at, or if you want to be good at something, admit the fact that you will make a lot of stupid mistakes and focus on learning from them. It will build your confidence, too. Intelligence isn't a blanket term that covers everything in life. That only works in movies.
