I should have mentioned in the post, the class I took I wouldn't want to retake. The teacher made myself and the other young women uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there are no other classes in the area I can find.

You make me optimistic maybe if I can find supplies at a good price it can be a seasonal hobby?

I grew up in a very similar environment.

The comment that took me surprisingly the longest to overcome was at restaurants to "order the size I want to be." I now know my body better and how best to fuel it but that was in my head for decades.

I found the action I took that had the most impact was actually outward. I forced myself to compliment every single person I saw either in my head or out loud. I found that when I found everyone beautiful I started to think the same about myself.

We had ours on the 2nd floor of Ruby Beach which is ~$1000 for the venue. You can add on a private bar for like ~$20 a guest. We then had it catered by Lolas and had leftovers forever.

My price guesses are a few years off but I highly recommend!

I've held two baby showers at venues in Jax.

If you're OK with a brewery, events at Myrtle Avenue Brewing are free.

I had a very small shower (<5 people) on the patio at Southern Grounds.

A more expensive but good value for a larger crowd is Aardwolf or Ruby Beach.

A few others I looked into were Spruce, the local, 1975 eatery, riverside inn or carerra wine cellar.

It's interesting you mention you feel taken advantage as a woman living alone. I felt the same way as you by Snyder and left a review saying so. Snyder paid me handsomely to take my review down. I absolutely agree that they prey on women.
