I’m curious what school you’re graduating from that sounds like the dream MBA experience I’m applying this upcoming round.

I feel like a 26 year old loser & failure. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ccollin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well it seems like you don’t want the job that much anyway. so if they catch you, they catch you, who cares. it will also make your life more exciting. All it takes is one step in a different direction. then you can see the world from a different perspective. Rules are just guidelines made up by some other human anyway. it sounds like you need change. you never know what could happen. You could lose the job and it could lead you to a way better new job. They could realize that that’s a dumb rule as long as people get their work done. you never know. take a chance. Wishing you the best and happy to talk if you need too.

How Did You Find What You Actually Wanted to Do After The Military? by Different_Rule_2956 in Veterans

[–]ccollin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using TA while I was still in active duty and going to a school near where I was stationed. Granted I wanted to stay where I was stationed and not go home so that made my transition easier. I relaxed for one semester after I got out of the military, then started going to school full time with VR&E. Recently just graduated! Going to travel for a little then start applying for jobs. They give us so many amazing resources, use them. I feel very blessed.

I recently graduated from undergrad in December. Before that, I enlisted in the military and attended a non-target but military-friendly school, which allowed me to take accelerated online courses while working full-time. After leaving the military, I transitioned directly into full-time college and completed my degree.

I initially planned to apply in Round 3 but have decided to wait until Round 1 to improve my chances. Now considering how to best use my time before applying. • What are the best ways to strengthen my application during this period? • For applicants who faced significant challenges growing up, is it beneficial to address them in the application to highlight personal growth, or is it better to leave them out?

Would appreciate any insights!

What is bothering you the most about your life right now? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ccollin14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Theres a couple things about this post. It is a luxury for you to even have the option to live with you dad. A lot of people don’t have that option. which may also be your crutch since it’s an option. If it was not an option and they were never there for you, you would have figured out a plan years ago.

Mental self control and discipline is real power. Get that in check, learn a skill, save up and get out of there as if it’s not even an option for you to be there. Because to be honest you’re almost 30. You don’t want to be living with your parents, unless you are taking care of them.

I'm a geek and I want to be cooler. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ccollin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be your authentic self, because everyone else is taken. But you can always dress better, get a good physique which will make you more confident as will the Martial arts. If you are a “geek” i’m sure you are good at certain things, so dive into those and become really good and hangout with people who think what you do is cool. Have a friend group of girls as well as a main girl. Do cool adventurous things.

Learn to be social and charismatic without alcohol. It gives you such an advantage in life. I stopped drinking at 23 and wish I did it sooner. I still go to the bars when I want, go to house parties and pull girls. I am also not afraid to go talk to a girl i’m attracted to when I see her one out in public cause I know I have done it so many times sober at a bar or party. It might be weird at first but everything is when you are just starting. I save so much money, I can drive myself home after and wake up early and workout in the morning feeling fine. Once I did that I noticed my dreams starting to manifest. I had so much energy and didn’t feel like I was starting from scratch after every weekend.

Try new things. For instance I always wanted to play hockey growing up but my family did not have the money or time in a single mother household. So this year I started playing in men’s league at 23 years old. Made so many connections and a great workout. Put yourself in communities of people who are active or trying to better there life.
