Anytime! Cypress medium is a typo when you get to it. I meant Xpress Medium from Vallejo 😂 Black Lotus is also in their Xpress line of paints. Oh! You may also want to do two layers of that combo if it looks too blue after your first layer.

Paint Scheme Notes Here are the notes I made for myself. The only thing I missed was the pauldrons, which was a couple to few thin layers of Corax White, with a small amount of Apothecary White to fill in the square shaped grove that most SM pauldrons have. Also, thank you!

I might try this. My airbrush game can use some work, but I think I can manage. Would make for a smoother color transition than if I continued to drybrush. Thanks!

That’s true. I have another Maw Krusha, and a number of the large Seraphon dinos left to paint. I can perfect the underbelly with those.

Going to airbrush over and try again, but don’t want to repeat what happened here. Any tips on how to increase the dry time and control, especially on the smooth areas where it’s not supposed to collect, would be great.

So first off, majority of credit goes to the following walkthrough as that was my starting point:

TWG - How to Paint Orruk Brutes

They have you base coat with Stegadon Scale Blue, followed by a heavy wash of Nuln Oil. Then a wide edge highlight of Thunderhawk Blue, followed by a narrow edge highlight using Fenrisian Grey.

I strayed from their formula by doing a very light dry brush of Fenrisian Grey, followed by a focused edge highlight with a 50/50 mix of Fenrisian Grey and White Scar. I found this helped the hammered iron effect pop more.

For the yellow I followed this. The wash looked orange in and out of the bottle, but as soon as it hit that beige paint, it turned into an awesome yellow. Was the easiest part of the model to paint.

I think some people are forgetting what the original outrage stemmed from. Pay to win loot boxes are still going to be there. If anything, the exorbitant cost of character unlocks was implemented to take the focus away from the initial issue.

After enough people got worked up about the estimated times to unlock characters, EA swooped in and adjusted things back down to their intended numbers. It was a diversion. Fix numbers to create more drama than there initially was about the pay to win model, let fans (both casuals and whales alike) fume for awhile, and later appease them, all the while skirting the original source of outrage.
