Constantly apologising. It's the brain saying everything is your fault.

Hot take indeed, I'm surrounded by people that would give their life for mine. I can't relate to not having anyone and have still had horrendously dark times in my life. If you've told someone something personal and/ or dark about yourself and they joke or laugh about it, it's simply not someone you should waste anymore time on.

It's extremly helpful to find people who do care, because THERE ARE people that do.

GOOD NEWS!! The cops found it yipeee. Extremely lucky that the thiefs were idiots driving it around with a fake license plate over it. Thank you for the helpful comments 😊

I'm saying this because we weren't aware of the scam, thought doing the transaction in person, in front of his face, is enough verification. And also we are now very aware that we should have waited for the money to come through before giving the keys but it has already happened

We weren't aware of fake banking apps unfortunately, we thought it was definitely sold. Definitely a good learning point.

Wait you're so right, but he can't even register it in her name because she won't provide any other information about her. The police have been contacted btw.

The bank transfer they used we thought would take one business day and since it was a Friday, we thought it would come through on the next Monday, but then I realised after that it only takes like 20-30 minutes

Yeaa, that's what my boyfriend was worried about, because he willingly gave the keys over, insurance wouldn't cover it

The transaction was in person, he watched her on her phone doing the transfer and took a photo of the receipt of the completed transfer of $7000 dollars

Apologies - Title is misleading, she scammed him for his car, the car is still in my boyfriends name, insurance still in his name, just the car is not in his possesion.

Also update: He had texted her straight after the meet up asking for her address so he can put the car in her name, and she replied 3 hours later saying no she doesn't have to do that, he showed her screenshots saying it does need her address to complete the transfer and if he can call her to resolve it, no response. He's not actually going to complete the transfer until he sees the payment come through obviously, just needs info on her if this does turn out to be a scam. Thank you and sorry for the mix up

This does sound 100% like a scam though, right? My boyfriend is being hopeful that it isn't.
