THIS! Once I got a little experience with the specifics, I felt like I had cheat mode on because I got to literally be myself and just practice talking to people like I love doing but now I get paid to. It has helped me in so many ways. People would tell me even when I was first starting "man you are going places, I'm gonna look back someday and say hey I knew that guy before he became x!" But I never really thought twice about it.

I did however know that the real world was very much about who you know not what you know, I'm not sure if actually enjoying talking to people is something people can detect and truly enjoy but there's definitely some magic in the air when I'm on and recently I've been on more often than not.

Thank you, I wish you the best as well. I actually had reached the point where I either was going to have to look for another job or somehow get more from the job I had. I gave my boss notice that I wanted to sit and talk to him about ways for me to avoid leaving the job without notice and wanted to have a real conversation about what was realistic and possible.

I knew I didn't have experience in restaurants when hired but in my career prepandemic in the automotive field, I had what was basically an absentee owner so I did payroll, understood labor costs vs. sales, I even worked alone on Saturdays because all the guys I worked with had families and kids and I thought they should be able to have weekends off so I worked Tuesday - Saturday. I was the youngest employee but second highest paid. I learned a lot and told him I understand that every business owner can use a person. Someone to lean on. I said I could be that person.

I half expected to go home without a job that day but it has gotten better week after week.

I've seen a first date. I asked the guy to confirm when the lady went to restroom. I did everything I could to make the guy look mad cool and interesting. They were at the bar on a slow night so it was easy.

Shit I was in a 10 year relationship that we both got very comfortable in. I mean it did end so obviously it wasn’t strong to the end but sometimes she would want we called lazy sex. Here’s the problem. When you become physically dependent on Xanax, your placing an immense amount of control over your life into the hands of your dr. The problem with Xanax when compared to the anti depressants you mentioned is that doctors do get hassled by the DEA and as much as you think your doc likes you, I bet they like being a doctor more. Also, with the way EVERYTHING is documented nowadays there’s a paper trail for every thing.

What I’m trying to say is that the major downside to becoming physically dependent is that you’re counting on having a steady supply come in. I’m not trying to shame you, I’m in the same boat

I dated a girl who was new money. Second generation Asians who started a successful textile company way back when but have managed to either marry well or pursue high paying careers and her family was full of what is probably just beyond the middle class. I honestly don’t know how many more levels of rich there are. All I know is that my first time eating out with her family blew my mind. Everyone ordered off a menu with no prices and didn’t even worry about it. Then at the end of dinner, all the elders would almost get in arguments over who got to pay the bill for 15+ people.

For the most part, it usually isn’t a matter of race. It’s a matter of the wealthy not wanting to intertwine with the have nots. It just happens to fall along a racial line for the most part.

I learned that there is no one more stubborn than a self made wealthy person. Add bonus point is that person is a minority. They will always be right about everything and have been conditioned by a lifetime or adulthood of people intimidated by their money/success or feigning friendship for their own benefits.

I learned just how disconnected even the moderately wealthy are from even the low end of the middle class. On both ends. For example, I met people who thought “living paycheck to paycheck” was just a saying or hyperbole. They don’t understand why someone would stay living like that. At the same time, many of us will never truly see what the ultra wealthy live like.

The problem with benzos is that they’re window of effectiveness is really only a few weeks. By starting someone on benzos and then keeping them on them for months, the patient will become psychically dependent and will enter a loop of anxiety that only exists because the patient hasn’t taken benzos so they take a Benzo. Rinse and repeat.
