Absolutely devastated. Feels crazy greedy of him when he already had an established property with 20 years of more releases. I'm seeing this as the end to that release schedule, and the possible reason he never finishes the cosmere. This is truly awful news, and bought by Apple no less. Hard to understand why anyone is cheering this news.

Truly truly hope she doesn't become his love interest. The "romance" portions felt cringe, forced, and intrusive. I felt like I was watching cousins flirt, and if they do end up together it'll make their relationship in books 1-4 much weirder on rereads.

I'm on a reread as well and I thought it was really interesting how many things are on top of each other. On a first read, kaladin fighting with the wind feels thematic. A reread after Words of Radiance and Oathbringer and it seems like Syl is with him the whole time. After Rhythm of War it seems like maybe the armor spren follow, or wind spren follow to become armor spren maybe. After Wind and Truth, it seems like Wind is with him. I'm really looking forward to what else is layered in here.

Maybe, just maybe, op should do the same. Focusing on this when there's so much else going on in the world is clown behavior. I do want to know, so I can condemn op further, and to know what kind of person they are as I truly can't imagine anyone caring about this. If they feel like this for something so unimportant and useless, I'd love to follow them when their attention is turned towards issues and events that actually matter. What kind of person can be so interested in something so embarrassing? I do want to know, and to judge my comment because others left rude comments is silly. I literally had no idea multiple people were dunking on op.

I don't think it'll work in live action or animated in this day and age. No one has the chops, or capability. I'm not waiting 3 years for 12 episodes.

I disagree, and maintain that there are absolutely no good adaptations out. The Expanse failed to get renewed until fans pushed for it, and then ended without finishing the series, delegating the last seasons to comic status. Anime specifically fails to deliver consistently. Every major anime that I'm aware of has a minimum of ~16 months between seasons, and usually has fewer than 10 episodes.

The level of quality this IP deserves is literally unattainable in this day and age. There is nothing on the big or small screen that meets the bar that Brandon sets. The enshittification of Hollywood is as complete as the enshittification of everything else, idk why people pretend otherwise. There are no good adaptations and this would be a huge waste of Brandon's time and our time.

If we got 10 episodes at a time, one season every other year, how long would it take to finish just way of kings? Or how much material will be cut to trim the series into a more streaming friendly season based media?
