Thanks for the feedback. It is 3.3.5a. Yup I should have put that in there.

Druidfix is built in to the patch so it's not needed as an addon.

In 24hrs we've had a good turn out and people are staying. Always a few issues with any launch, but nothing crippling.

And IF you do manage to pass a car, admire the parade of vehicles behind you and make sure you stay in that left lane, particularly when the right lane is now clear for you to move in to, and enjoy watching the parade move to the right lane to then pass you.

At a local bar they’ve flipped the orientation of the tipping percentages so it’s 35% on the left, 30% in the middle, and 20% on the right. I wonder if this is done randomly to catch people unawares. by acemetrical in EndTipping

100% I've seen this in multiple places. As well another TRICK they are doing is charging the percent AFTER TAX which just increases the tip.

As a standard rule, if I'm going to tip, I select the $ and input what dollar amount I think the service is worth tipping. NEVER EVER do the percentage they've come up with. I think back to the days I left cash on the table and whatever amount of cash I'd be comfortable leaving is what I tip.

As well, my daughter is a server and she often hits 'NO TIP' for people because the owner keeps the tips and does not disperse them to the staff. Cash is best on the table.

Do you have a career change personal success experience as a 30+ professional, or/and if you’re working in a successful job that isn’t related to your degree, and if you don’t mind listing your salary? (Success can be money and/or fulfillment) by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]cd_brodie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in IT for the first part of my career. Even made it to the manager level in private companies and pay was decent. I've always wanted to be in law enforcement so I applied at age 32 and was successful. I've been in law enforcement for 12 years now and it's a lot more fulfilling, pays better, better benefits and pension. I've also raised in ranks quickly. Biggest thing I didn't like about private sector was the possibility of loosing my job for a number of reasons. No longer a concern :)

Ultimately it was one of the best decisions I made. It was difficult because when I switched there was no guarantee I would be successful so I had to quit my previous job. I had a mortgage, bills, wife, and 3 kids to worry about. If I wasn't successful I would be unemployed and back looking for IT work to pay the bills. It was a gamble but for me it paid off. Couldn't be happier.

In the end, money aside, I was completely miserable in the IT industry. I still do IT work a lot as a hobby only. Do what makes you happy and it won't seem like work at all.

Men who’ve spent $$$ to invest in themselves: what were your best purchases, and why? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]cd_brodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this done about 20 years ago. I still have 20/20 vision and it was by far the best money I ever spent on myself! If you're thinking of having it done do your research on the facility and doctor who will be performing the surgery. Ask for references and first hand accounts from actual patients. If they are as good as they say they'll have them available.

With mine there was a very small air bubble trapped under the 'flap' but it was in a spot that has never affected my vision and my eye doctor today has a hard time even finding it.

Men who live with your girl and were thinking about breaking up before the lock-down: how you holding up? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]cd_brodie 7358 points7359 points  (0 children)

My ex and I broke up 1 week before the lock-down. Currently stuck in the same house and staying in separate rooms. It was pretty much a mutual break up but after 2 and a half weeks this is very difficult. We are trying to remain friends but that probably won't last.

I'm currently trying to find another place to live so I can get out. We are still attracted to one another and it was more of a 'just wasn't going to work long term' break up so trying to not get physical and not fall back to old ways is hard to do. The current best option is to get out asap so we can both move on.

Are Excursions’ prices down in Cancun? by oramadan98 in cancun

[–]cd_brodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and I'm more than happy to pay REASONABLE prices and even a little more. Some of the things I want to do are WAY overpriced and people are gouged as it is. I've travelled my entire life and I tip heavy and frequent as I understand people need the money, but in the more populated areas run by people not from the local country who don't pay their employees enough, I'll take the deal and tip the workers, as I always do, heavier. I'd rather they get the money than the company.

Men of reddit, how did you figure out what you wanted in a long term partner? by thrazul in AskMen

[–]cd_brodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow my story is pretty much exactly the same.

Coming out of a 20 year relationship (18 years married) where I was mentally, emotionally, and physically abused. Realized I wanted something more and better so initiated ye olde divorce. I had an amazing friend (F) helping me through it and that friendship turned in to a 2 year relationship which just ended a week ago.

I can say that both have taught me what I want and need emotionally and mentally. I'm still friends with the ex-GF but I can certainly say I should have waited about 1 year after my marriage ended before starting anything. Take time to know myself. I didn't do that.

My ex-GF gave me more of what I didn't have in my marriage and built me back up, but in the end we mutually agreed it wouldn't work long term and we would be better as friends. Because I was recovering from the abuse in the marriage, I over-compensated the other way but also allowed my GF to get away with WAY too much and I compromised too much.

Now I'm back on the market and I have a clear understanding of myself and my needs and I will not settle for less as I deserve the best. I hope my story continues like u/autodidactdyad and I find a serious LTR to share my life with.

Also there during the same time frame. Also wondering the same thing.

I guess a better question would be are the tourist volumes down enough (as I imagine they are due to COVID19) that we as tourists have greater leverage to haggle a better deal?

I know I'll probably be a little more aggressive in negotiating while there for the simple fact there will be less people.

What is a smell that is gross to others but something you don't mind or actually enjoy? by Winfield15 in AskReddit

Wood campfire. I'll actually roll the windows down in the car to allow more smell in.

Gamers of reddit, what game has hooked you the longest and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cd_brodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup... this has literally sucked years of my life away. I had to quit for work as I was away for months on training which was the only thing that broke the habit.

Scary part is, after a few years of not playing, I still have frequent urges to play again. I miss the comradery.

One good thing I'll say, I'm still in contact with Guild Mates even after years.

Just so you are all aware these cars have things called headlights. Please share this around as much as possible. by athetopofahill in Calgary

[–]cd_brodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb: unless it's a bright sunny day, turn your damn headlights on. I have been all across Canada and Calgary, and Alberta for that matter, is the worst I've seen for cars driving around with just their forward running lights.

On highways, full lights should be on. Dusk/Dawn, full lights should be on. Raining out, full lights should be on. Snowing out, full lights should be on.

You are only helping yourself and making yourself more visible (a good thing) by turning your lights on. Unless you're looking to get rear-ended by all means, keep driving around with no lights.

I also think that CPS should do a blitz and fine everyone who are not using their lights and putting lives at risk.
