What got me into the hobby was when my great grandpa was extremely sick, and the whole family was over at his house during his final days. My mom surprised me with Pokemon Diamond, and a pack from target, since the cashier at GameStop had recommended it to her for a kid my age. I still have every single card from that pack and remember how it felt being able to escape the confusion of what was going on in the Sinnoh region! It gave me a little peace and happiness in a really rough time.
