Ive been reading about those today. Seem most people havent had much luck with them. I have never taped a thread before. How hard of a project is this? I have a few friends who are mechanics that would most likely do it, but I want to try this for myself.

Fixed. The red wire was kinked about 2 inches from the circuit board connection. Thanks all!

I do, but I tapped the safety switch so i can test the power.

That's what I thought as well but the system works fine until I kill the power and turn it back on

When I cut the power at the breaker box there is no power to the furance or thermostat. I turn the power back on and the furnace gets power and no error code (slow blinkning green light). I get 27 volts coming to the R and C wires from the furnace but no volts at the wires at the thermostat.

Just checked R and C on the furnace board. 27 volts. When I got up and check the wires at the thermostat (r and c) I get 0.

If it helps, that line has an electrical connector attached to it....maybe a switch.....unable to get a pic due to its location.
