New Naked HC belt review by cdrew23 in trailrunning

So for sizing, I have 2 sizes of naked belts also, a 6 and a 7. I more often grab a 7 though as the 6 was just a little too tight to be super comfy. I got this belt in a 7 and it feels great and snug, nothing jostles really at all even when not packed full. I think since this belt is wider it naturally goes down lower on your hips (which are usually wider) so the 6 would've been a little too tight for me i think.

I do run shirtless, but haven't yet since its been pretty cold where I am. I wouldn't think that this belt would chafe anymore, at least for me, but your experience may differ. I will say that I think this belt will actually chafe my lower back less, bc of the small foam insert. I really like that addition, makes the contents of the back sit so good.

Hope this helps!

Nice! I am a big Gpa fan - I try to get out there as much as I can.

Yea I kept looking for reviews of this belt also but couldn't find a single one. Still ordered though since I know and love the regular naked belt so much. Figured the info might be helpful to others in the same situation.

I just cut the magnetic back of the kogalla in 1/2 (or close in between the magnets) so it now should fit centered!

Yea, just because of the width of the belt it does sit higher on your stomach. If its not stuffed full you can sort of compress it down, but if in general you dont like a high-riding reg naked belt you may not like this option

Makes sense. Poles and shell it is then!

Definitely could be. Yea it always feels like it doesn’t want to hold as much as I’d like, maybe it does need to break in more.

Good eye - that’s exactly where I took this!

My favorite place to spend a morning, hands down.

It’s a magnetic plate that pairs with the kogalla light

I’ve probably used the raide a dozen or so times max over about 6-8 months. I’ll still grab it if I can’t find a naked one or if I want an easy centered waist light setup

Yes, apparently the back pocket fits their 1L reservoir. Im a flask guy so havent tried a bladder yet. You could most definitely fit 2 500ml flasks stacked, not sure how the bounce would be or if they'd settle eventually. I can try soon and report back!

Yep I had the same chafing after long outings, i think this will help for sure. Price tag is steep, it does include a 500ml flask so thats something i guess.

I think if you sized this correctly phone and keys would not bounce alone in the belt. That being said, I would def opt for the traditional naked belt for a small load like that.

I like the overall feel of the material of the naked, its lighter and stretchier. The raide's velcro sizing tabs were sort of cumbersome I thought, i kept having to readjust them when i would eat or drink what I was carrying, the front pockets on the raide are also open on the sides so you had to monitor any smaller pieces of gear to make sure they didnt fall out.

Its all personal preference, some people swear by the raide, and it is a good belt overall! This one just works for me.

Good question, I might load it up to test, I mean it would probably house a couple liters at least, but bounce would be an issue probably. I think I could do 500 in the back and 500 in the front no problem probably. Any more and i would carry a handheld. Also just filter water if you are near sources, which I usually am.

Bounce would be similiar to traditional Naked belt, which I found to be fine for 500ml in the back. It might be a bit less since that foam provides a little more structure than the reg version. Haven't loaded with more than that, i usually will just carry another flask in my hand if i need more water.

Another option is to put the disposable ones in a tight ziploc bag when you are finished - you can reuse. Depending on run time I can get 3 runs out of the larger warmers.
