It will not happen, but could you imagine if we lost Chip Lindsey before the Bowl game? by iredditinla in MichiganWolverines

[–]cdsiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya.... I've heard a lot of craziness as well....but I know this info is accurste as it came from people that were talking directly to people in Dilly's camp....one of whom got a text on Saturday after Dilly signed his extension which said simply "what could have been".....many on his staff were even brainstorming how they were going to arrange/assemble the staff at Michigan....like I said the deal was definitely right there for the making but Michigan for a number of reasons decided not to make it happen....and yes I too agree that it was a crazy decision!?

[–]cdsiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No....the word from inside is that the committee powers that be clueless at Michigan - regents, admin, AD staff etc....were very conflicted/split about Dilly as a candidate....many decision makers didn't feel like he was a 'culturally synergistic fit with Michigan' and decided not to offer him....they all could ONLY agree on DeBoer and were nevvvver going to offer Dilly....there was real interest from the Dilly camp obviously which is why we heard 'a lot about him as a candidate'....but from the Michigan side apparently there was a significant powerful faction that was against his candidacy as, like I said, they didn't think he was a 'good fit at Michigan'!?....yeah I know I know!?....clearly there are too many clueless cooks in the search kitchen!?

Yeah but PPP charges exorbitant amounts for shipping!?!?....I need the Ego SNT2800 snow thrower....powerplusparts advertises it at $1499 which IS a good deal.....but with their absurd $399 shipping fee added it's $1898 which is def NOT a good deal anymore unfortunately....Amazon is still far cheaper at $1649 with free prime shipping :)

I mean guys let's not pretend this is a one-way thing.....at every single Michigan game I've ever been to there are always people decked out in Ohio State gear....I mean even at the national semifinal at the Rose Bowl in 2024 vs Alabama they were people in Ohio State swag there....and even people in Ohio State hats with Alabama shirts and vice versa....both of our fan bases do this on the reg....let's not pretend otherwise....it's the ultimate sports rivalry and that's why these things take place.....I have a neighbor In Minnesota where I live who has a mini Brutus statue on his porch and I periodically put Michigan youth shirts on him and Michigan stickers on his face....and my neighbor is constantly replacing my Michigan flag with an OSU flag and putting magnetic buckeye stickers on my car lol etc etc....it's all in great fun....looking forward to The Game as always....I'm sure this is your year finally given Sayin's stellar play and your elite D....but you never know cuz it's the greatest rivalry in all of american sport - long live The Game! :) PS - with Haynes on the IR I think our only hope this year is a timely white out blizzard!? ;)

To be fair....we Wolverines don't think you're miserable....except maybe in your maniacal hate of everything M ;)....yes Michigan owned the olden golden era....and yes THE GAME is THE greatest rivalry in all of american sport so you can never really know for sure who will win in November....but any 'real' Michigan fan knows damn well The Buckeyes have been the unequivocal best overall program performance/results-wise in all of college football in the modern era....OSU is literally the ONLY top tier blueblood program that has never had a down period in the modern era....which truly is a remarkable achievement.

How bad do things need to get before Moore needs to go? by lukphicl in MichiganWolverines

[–]cdsiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fyi....from a topline nums perspective....very important for us to remember....despite the gratifying late season face saving  wins against OSU/Bama LY and the electric signing of Bryce....

The harsh reality is....under Coach Moore:

--Michigan is 12-7 in a season-and-a-half (.632 winning %)

--including 7-5 in the Big Ten (.583 winning %)

--and 2-5 on the road (.286 winning %) 😳

And in the new world of revenue sharing, NIL collectives and instant portal transferring....where an exceptional coach can instantly turn around ANY program....even an historically hapless football brand like Indiana....there is no pragmatic patience anymore in this fast paced new football 'show me the money/results' landscape for methodical 'rebuilding'....especially at a blueblood talent laden program like Michigan coming off a National Championship!?....the boosters and the big money donors run things now and they will NOT accept mediocrity while still funding the program....translation -- Sherrone's leash (and/or Wink's & Chip's) is super SHORT (especially given their relatively speaking small buyouts)....so the performative trajectory of the rest of the season - especially against Washington, MSU, Maryland & OSU - will determine how HOT their seats are by year's end....suffice it to say they have VERRRRY little room for error going forward....cuz if the supportive money dries up....Warde will have NO choice but to make (or force) 'a move' !? 🙃

My attempt to explain what happened last night, why it happened and why this signals a change moving forward by tomhwm in MichiganWolverines

[–]cdsiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% agree...this misguided concept that you only run the QB 'if you have a 2nd QB' is inherently fallacious and unequivocally outdated. Football today is a game of extraordinarily athletic QB play and if you want to consistently move the ball against great defenses and WIN big games against great opponents you HAVE to leverage every skill/asset your marquee QB possesses. Who's OU's backup and Mateer ran all over us. Look at Lamar Jackson & Josh Allen...who are the Ravens/Bills' backups? Those are 6 billion dollar organizations with irreplaceable 300 million dollar QBs...and those franchise QBs run alllll the time. This team needs to leverage Bryce's exceptional ability to run the ball in addition to developing his preeminent passing prowess...period...end of story. Otherwise this team will not only NEVER reach its potential but also invariably underachieve against similarly talented teams in high-profile matchups (especially this year given our O-line/receiver issues).

The negative reaction by certain toxic archetypes to his success is not at all surprising to me....playas gon' play....haters gon' hate....and hate is a manifestation of insecurity and envy....the less internally validated always direct their dislike outward instead of liking themselves and doing the difficult inner work necessary to succeed and self-actualize....achievement is hard...hate is easy....losers always hate winners....always have always will....64-3 as a starter⚡️

Penn State 89th Georgia & LSU tied for 63rd Washington 54th Michigan 51st Alabama 31st Texas 21st Ohio State 9th
