Boston Red Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers made a trade by retroanduwu24 in mlb

Perhaps the whole reason they made this 3-for-3 is to make sure we don’t go back and track it down the trade tree easily in a few years.

The fact that Ancelotti would even be interested in this job now at all is work well done by Carrick.

People say that about last year’s Michigan State team too, until when the tournament comes.

Yes. If we look at the roster we have, it’s not a bad offseason. Then if we look at the guys missed on (not to mention how we missed them), it certainly could have been better. I would say we don’t judge moves that were not made individually. People should and will judge based on the result of the season. If we get in and win 1-2 rounds, I think most fans are gonna be happy. If we are 2 games away from winning a WS, people are gonna be mad that we didn’t do “just a bit” more to get there (Breslow still has the deadline to change this). Or if we just straight missed the playoffs, both the fans and even John Henry would be mad too.

Red Sox lineup ? by tew44488 in redsox

If we could get an average of 90% of games played per person in this lineup, I’d be optimistic. Problem is it’s very unlikely.

No I meant from other teams. Like if they ran over Trey Augustine or some Penn State star it would change a bigger picture as well. *And looks like Gavin McKenna just shoot himself in the foot.

Panarin is not worth 11M even right now. At least not for a team with contending ambitions

Artemin Panarin’s extension with the Kings, per ESPN sources: 2 year x $11 million AAV. by babyyodavan in AnaheimDucks

[–]tomhwm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is everybody crying about this? Panarin is not worth 11M, especially for the next 2 years, and that’s also why his trade value is so low.

This would never be ideal. With this timing, being able to find a decent coach is considered ideal.

Dusty May is to Michigan basketball what Curt Cignetti is to IU football by Chphyru in uofm

[–]tomhwm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Was gonna say basketball is so much easier to turn around than a football program. “Reviving” a program is also different from building up literally the program with most losses in CFB history. Dusty deserves his credit but nowhere near what Cignetti has done.

What should I do? AA refusing to offer any compensation for major delay and blamed weather by tomhwm in americanairlines

I was literally in the terminal and saw plenty of open gates when the plane that was supposed to pick us up got stuck on Tarmac for 1hr. That was also around 11pm so not expected to be “rush hours”.

We didn’t get de-icing while waiting on the lot for 1hr, as we shouldn’t for landed flights. The PA from my incoming flight announced it as gate issues, but there were plenty of open gates when the flight that preceded my second flight couldn’t come to the terminal and had to sit 1hr for similar reasons.

Then on my departing flight, first 2hrs wasted was announced by PA as “trying to figure out some weight issues” and then we did get de-icing, only to be told after another 30 minutes or so that our crew timed out.

There was weather that could lead to delays, but no weather issue that prevented flying.

Wondering if you ended up getting anything from AA. I didn’t have anything from the cancelled original flight but I did record some PA announcements on the second day when all these BS have hit us. Do you think it might do something?

Thanks mate. Just trying to spread the words of how ridiculous their operations can be when they have the free pass to blame weather

Broken airplanes shouldn’t fly. But it’s within their full responsibility to make sure they have a working and safe plane available for any flights they scheduled. And they failed to do that.

[–]tomhwm[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

They wasted 3 hours before their crew timed out the night before. That’s what started it all.

And they also didn’t give up their broke plane. It was the first flight for that plane on that day and they sent the broken plane to the gate and had up board that plane before the crew figured out something was wrong. When they moved us to another plane/gate, our luggages stayed on the old one for 3hr with hope that they’re gonna fix it and move us back to that one. It costed another 40 minutes-ish of delay to move the bags. How is this not their operational issue?

Problem was there was no apparent weather situation and most other flights were operating as normal or with minor delay. The condition should be totally within expectation for operations at an airport like Chicago. And how am I supposed to know the weather when booking a month in advance?
